By Lois Wilson

Once again Senior Scribe Poet Laureate Lois Wilson is on top of the season with her insightful look at the important events of the day.

What comes after Thanksgiving… or in some cases interferes with Thanksgiving? Why it’s Black Friday of course! And the very next day, it’s Small Business Saturday.

The word of the day is BUY! This can easily be translated into pull out your cash or credit card. Whether you really need it or not, you can get it cheaper today.

Wilson's completed set - five volumes - of published poetry is available and is offered as a fundraiser for the Darke County Scholarship Fund. Some editions are running low, said put in your request soon. A sixth edition is currently at the printer. Enjoy great poetry and help a local youngster attend college. RED TO BLACK? FOR WHOM?

The day after Thanksgiving, Friday,
Has become the national “buy” day.
Ads galore in papers, on TV
Tout “save more” and “buy one; get one free.”
“The best deals of the year,” they insist;
Such incentives are hard to resist.
But if one cannot, does it matter?
Yes, the result—your billfold’s flatter!
