I Was Dared!
By Mona Lease

Hi, all!! After sharing my views on anti- semitism, what the "true" religious denomination is, etc - I was dared to write this column. After some more research - I submit the following for you readers to consider. It is my opinion and all references are from the King James Bible. Thanks for reading and considering.

Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden. Adam named all of the animals in the Garden. (Someone said he could and accepted the names...right??). Adam had no mate and Eve was created. (Text Genesis 2:20). So Adam had some type of relationship with God.

There was one rule Adam and Eve had to obey...don't eat from this one tree. They did not obey it. They were exiled from the Garden. (Text Genesis 21). God did make them coats of skin and clothed them.

Outside of the Garden...God said he would greatly increase Eve's pains in childbirth. (Text Genesis 3:19). God told Adam he shall toil hard for thistles and thorns. (Text Genesis 3:18).

Now Adam and Eve are outside of the Garden - fending for themselves. They had sons Cain and Abel. They would have been speaking one language at this point. Between two people you'd only need one language.

Some of the people got together to build a tower. They wanted to go up to "talk to God himself." They all spoke the same language, God confused that language, and scattered them abroad upon the face of the earth. (Text Genesis 11:9).

God gave the resulting people the 10 Commandments. (Exodus 20:). Among so many people...there needs to be a written list of rules for them to follow...right??

Now...my "dare" really begins! Coming out of the Garden...there would have been one language.

Then people got together to "go talk to God." All one language..they built the tower..."Hand me another brick Okay. I need more water. I got it." Or they started building it.

The language was "confused" - actually more languages were "born." Now...our English really is not a language. All of our words go back to a much older language...one of these languages. Koine Greek  - in which the New Testament was written - has a word "pharmacopeia"...from which our word "pharmacy"  comes. Koine Greek is still spoken on the island of Crete today. I have friends on Facebook who live there.

As people scattered - they would still have knowledge of God and the 10 Commandments - right? There would be those who got with people they could not understand and learned a new language - right?

There would be those who would follow the 10 Commandments and others would adopt them - right?

So today we have how many denominations? Catholic, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Protestant, Methodist,...the list is endless.

So - in light of the recent mass-shooting in a Jewish synagogue..on Squirrel Hill...in Pittsburgh, Pa. - I ask:

Don't we all have a piece of this "history" - as it were? If you could really trace this whole thing back to where the "scattered" landed...where would you find of any of your ancestors?

My roots trace back to Germany...both sides of my family. The Garden of Eden is said to have been in Iraq...then Mesopotamia. The Euphrates River...mentioned in the Bible to have flowed from the Garden...still exists in Iraq today.

In our "hate crimes"..,.our "hate shootings"...Are we depriving ourselves of answers to our worst problems in society today? Or at least part of an answer?

Thanks for reading and considering readers. You are the best!!

Remember the kiddies and our service people. Take good care of the furry and feathered ones out there .Be safe and healthy. See ya next time. Ever Toodles!!!     MONA
