Bowling teams kick off season
Boys Bowling Team Kicks off the Season
The Versailles Boys Bowling team kicked off the season on November 7,
2015 in Minster, OH at the WOHBC Conference Kick Off Tournament. The
Tigers presented with 9 bowlers at the tournament. After 2 individual
games there was a cut to the top 46 bowlers including 4 Tiger Bowlers:
Kyle Cotner in 2nd place, Alex Groff, Brody Hyre, and Jacob Wening.
These bowlers then went on to bowl another individual game and after a
combined pin total from all games there was another cut to the top 4.
Kyle Cotner made the final cut and finished the tournament in 2nd
place. He was defeated by Brandon Kennard 235‐195. “Kyle
came out strong at our season opener averaging 223 for the tournament.
I was proud of all of the boys and look forward to a strong season this
year” said Coach Phlipot.
Conference match play begins next Saturday in Minster, OH against
Wapakoneta.
Lady Bowlers Season Opener
The WOHBC Conference opened up with a Kick‐Off Singles Tournament on
November 7, 2015 in Minster, OH. The Lady Tigers brought 14 individual
bowlers to the tournament. They started by bowling 2 games with the
first cut down to the top 36. Five Tigers made the first cut including
Hannah Niekamp in 3rd place, Brigette Holsapple, Morgan Heitkamp,
Morgan Barlage, and Makenzie Berning. After the cut one more game was
bowled and a total pin count cut the tournament to the top 4. Hannah
Niekamp then continued on to head to head match play and finished 2nd
in the tournament after she was defeated in the semi‐finals by Britni
Hosterman, 187‐183. “We had 2 Freshman that made the first cut in the
tournament today. Hannah came out strong with an average of
191. I am proud of the girls and look forward to another strong
season” said Coach Phlipot.
Conference matches begin next Saturday in Minster, OH against
Wapakoneta.
