The final night of harness racing brought on some big purse money. The annual Gene Riegle Memorial and
the Arnie Almahurst went down without a hitch as Nuclear Dragon (above) took top honors in the

Reigle night a success

GREENVILLE- With the exception of The Little Brown Jug, the Gene Riegle Memorial pace has become the premier annual harness horse race in Ohio.

With seven horses racing for a purse of $45,000, it was Nuclear Dragon beating out the field. With Dan Noble doing the driving, the six year old gelding crossed the line in a blistering1:52.1, just 2/5 of a second off the track record.

According to guest track announcer, Roger Houston, it was one of the fastest fields ever assembled for the annual race.

Dancin Yankee finished second with Chris Paige in the sulky while Rock On Line and Greenville native, Jeff Nisonger came home in third.

In the Arnie Almahurst trot, a purse of $25, 000 was on the line as Lady's Dude, with Paige driving, crossed in 1:55.3, just missing the track record for the trot.

Pine Dream, driven by Brady Galliers was second with Kyle Star and Honey B crossing in third.

In other notable races, Foiled Again won the Marvin Godown Memorial in the 10th race of the night coming from behind in 1:57.1.

The 6th race of the night was the Ohio Ladies Pace as Alesha Binkley brought home the win behind Terrorific Velocity.

Make Three Wishes rolled in second with Woode Can Do coming in third.

Nisonger won the Chip Noble blanket for the second year in a row with the most wins at the fair.
