Trespassing

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 1028 hours I responded to 1113 Harrison Avenue in the City of Greenville in reference to a possible Burglary not in progress. Upon my arrival I spoke to Brent Henninger who advised he owned the property and no one lived at the listed address. Brent stated sometime between 04/06/25 and todays date three big items went missing. These items are one large cabinet and l corner bench set and a lawn mower. Brent stated he believed his previous tenant, Bruce Miller, took the items as he never returned the garage door opener. There was no physical damage to the garage as if someone broken into it. Brent stated that was the only way someone could get into the garage with out damaging something. While speaking to Brent he advised that the items that are gone were originally Bruce’s but brent believed they should be his as Bruce was evicted on February 6th, 2025. I spoke to prosecutor Chance Cox about this incident where he advised his would not be considered theft as the items were originally Bruce’s and the only thing we would be able to do would be trespass. I tried to contact Bruce about the situation where I received no answer. Bruce no longer lives locally and does not have any previous warnings for trespass. Bruce is to be warned for trespass when located or contacted. Brent did fill out a statement form. There will be nothing further regarding this incident.

Wanted Person

Raul Dean is known to live at 517 Pine Street with his mother, Ursula Dean and his sister, Tatiana Sanchez. Raul was arrested at this listed address (517 Pine Street) reference a warrant in August of 2024. During that arrest Rual barricaded himself in the walls of the basement. This is also Raul’s registered address since July of 2022. Information received from the Darke County Sherriff’ s Office, on Friday, April 18th, 2025, was that Raul is still living and residing at the listed address, 517 Pine Street. Through LEADS/NCIC it is also confirmed that Raul has an active warrant through Darke County Felony Probation for original charge of Aggravated Arson issued 02/25/2025, and it confirms Raul has cautions for weapons under disability, domestic violence, and assault. On April 21st, 2025, I received a signed search warrant for the listed address to go in and attempt to locate Raul. On April 22nd, 2025, with he assistance of the Darke County Sheriff’s office, we did make entry into the residence of 517 Pine Street. Upon initial entry into the residence we had contact with a female, who identified herself as Victoria Hobbs. Victoria advised that she was the only one inside the residence and said she had not seen Raul since before she went to bed the night before. Upon the initial entry into the residence Chief Ryan Benge was stationed at the back door where he observed the door open but the subject, who he could not identify, ran back inside to hide. Officers then spent approximately 60-75 minutes searching the residence for anyone else inside. While speaking with Victoria she advised that she did not know if he was inside. I asked Victoria more in detail how events happened once we began to knock on the door. Victoria advised that she was in bed sleeping in the basement. She heard the dogs going crazy so she woke up and came up the stairs to find the back door open. That is when she closed it and went to the living room and was met by officers. After searching the residence, Raul was finally located under a pile of clothes, bed mattress, and miscellaneous items under the stairs to the basement. The evidence shows that upon knocking on the door to gain entry, Raul ran to the back door attempting to escape. When he realized the house was surrounded he went to the basement to hide. If Raul was going down the stairs and Victoria was coming up the stairs then she should have seen him in passing. It also appears all the items that were piled on top of Raul that it would be difficult to do himself and probably would have needed help. This is where we believe Victoria aided and abet Raul and obstructed or delayed our apprehension of him. Raul was arrested and transported to the jail reference a felony probation warrant through the Darke County Sherriff Office. Victoria was arrested and transported to the jail reference charges of obstructing justice. The back seat of both transport cruisers was checked before and after transport with nothing located. Both subjects handcuffs were gap checked and double locked. See additional supplement for further details into the search of the residence for controlled substances.
