On May 17, 2025 at approximately 4:59 PM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Police, Greenville Fire and Greenville Township Fire/Rescue responded to the intersection of US Route 36 and Jaysville-St. Johns Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2016 Freightliner tractor/trailer, driven by Mohamed Abdela (37) of Dallas Texas was stopped at the posted stop sign southbound on Jaysville-St. Johns Road at US Route 36. Abdela failed to yield the right of way to a westbound blue 1994 GMC 1500, driven by John Troxel (18) of Bradford, Ohio causing Troxel to strike the driver’s side rear of the tractor and trailer.
Troxel and his female juvenile passenger were transported to Wayne HealthCare with minor injuries. Abdela was treated and released from the scene.
Abdela was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield after a clearly marked stop sign.
