On May 22, 2025 at approximately 2:41 pm Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire and Union City Rescue responded to the intersection of Coletown-Lightsville Road and Beamsville-Union City Road in reference to a three vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2014 Chevy Traverse, driven by Johnna Daniels (26) of Greenville, OH. was stopped at the posted stop sign southbound on Coletown-Lightsville Road. Daniels failed to yield the right-of-way to an eastbound white 2011 Nissan Frontier, driven by Terry Roberts (72) of Ridgeville, IN. Roberts struck Daniels on the passenger side of her vehicle, causing Roberts to collide with a blue 2018 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Beverly Thornburg (68) of Union City, OH. Thornburg was stopped northbound on Coletown-Lightsville Road at the posted stop sign when her vehicle was struck.
Roberts was transported to St. Vincent Randolph in Winschester, Indiana for further medical evaluation. Daniels was transported to Wayne Healthcare for further medical evaluation. Daniels and her two juvenile passengers were transported to Wayne Healthcare for further evaluation. No serious injuries were sustained as a result of this accident.
Daniels was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield the right-of-way.
