The Animal Shelter has 3 new dogs waiting for their fur-ever homes

The Darke County Animal Shelter has 3 new dogs available for adoption. For one longtime resident 1/2 of the adoption fee has been sponsored. Please check him out!

They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.

The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645

**Meet Bobby – 180+ Days and Still Waiting for His Forever Home!**

Say hello to Bobby, a 2-year-old intact male Mastiff/Terrier Mix who has been patiently waiting at the shelter for over 180 days. Bobby came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past—but what we do know, we’ve learned from our time with him here. Bobby is a sweet, treat-loving boy who absolutely adores being outside! Whether he’s chasing a ball or just soaking up the sun, Bobby is happiest with room to play. He’s still learning to walk nicely on a leash, but he’s picking it up quickly and eager to learn. He doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter. This gentle guy has been overlooked for far too long, and he’s more than ready to find a family of his own. Could that be you? Come meet Bobby and see if he’s the missing piece in your heart and home. Bobby did great for his bath and exam where he weighs in at 57 lbs.

Meet Retro! This handsome 1-year-old Hound Mix came to us as a stray, so his past is a bit of a mystery—but what we do know is that he’s got a heart full of love and a playful spirit! Retro is neutered and has already picked up some great habits, like sitting on command and chasing after tennis balls like a pro. He’s learning to walk nicely on a leash and doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter. If you’re looking for an energetic buddy who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Retro might just be your perfect match! Retro did great for his exam where is weighed in at 30 lbs.

Say hello to sweet Claire, a 7-month-old female Lab Mix who recently joined us as an owner surrender. While we’re sad her previous family had to say goodbye, we’re so excited to help this loving girl find her forever home! We have been told that Claire is a social butterfly that does great with kids, cats, and dogs and she’s also crate trained! While she’s still working on her house training, she’s a smart pup who already knows how to sit, and she’ll do just about anything for a treat! Claire loves to ball, soak up all the attention she can get, and doesn’t seemed to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. She’s an absolute sweetheart and we just know she’s going to make an amazing addition to a lucky family. Come meet Claire and let her steal your heart! Claire did great for her exam where she weighs in at 53 lbs.

Meet Benedict, a 7-month-old, intact male Lab Mix who came to us as an owner surrender. According to his previous family, Benedict is a wonderful companion that is great with kids, cats, and other dogs! He’s also crate trained, making transitions easier for his future home. Benedict is still working on house training, but with his love of treats and eagerness to please, he’s sure to get the hang of it soon. He’s a sweet boy learning to walk on a leash and he doesn’t seem mind the other dogs here at the shelter He already knows how to sit, and he loves to play ball and soak up attention from anyone willing to give it! If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who’s full of potential, Benedict could be your perfect match. Benedict did great for his exam where he weighed in at 56 lbs.
