The Animal Shelter has 6 new dogs waiting for their fur-ever homes

The Darke County Animal Shelter has 6 new dogs available for adoption.

They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.

The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645

Hank is an adorable 8-month-old intact male Shepherd mix who came to us as an owner surrender. He’s now ready to find a loving forever home where he can share all the affection he has to offer! Hank’s previous owners shared that he is great with kids, other dogs, housebroken and crate trained! While he may chase after cats, they said it seems to be out of playful curiosity rather than aggression. Hank is currently working on his leash skills and making steady progress. He’s a very sweet and social boy who loves attention and doesn’t mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Hank has shown us that he knows sit and loves to play with toys. Hank weighs 47 lbs and did wonderfully during his exam.
This beautiful girl came to us as a stray, so our knowledge about her background is limited. Everything we know is based on what we’ve observed here at the shelter. We Believe GG is a 3-year-old female Australian Shepherd Mix with a sweet and gentle nature. She may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she absolutely loves attention. GG is currently learning to walk on a leash and is making steady progress. GG Has shown us she know how to sit, loves to play ball and enjoys getting treats. She doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter. GG is patiently waiting for a loving forever home where she can truly shine. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a tender heart, GG might just be the perfect match for you. GG did great for her exam where she weighs in at 36lbs.
Esther is a sweet 6-month-old female Lab Mix who came to us as an owner surrender. She’s now looking for a loving forever home where she can receive the care, attention, and companionship she deserves! Her previous owners shared that Esther is good with other dogs, although she may chase after cats. She has only lived outdoors but she is still young that she could easily learn the ropes of indoor life. Esther is currently working on her leash skills and making steady progress. She can be a little shy at first but warms up over time and shows her sweet personality. She doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Esther weighs 43 lbs and did wonderfully during her exam.

Blackie is a beautiful 6-month-old female Lab mix who came to us as an owner surrender. She’s now on the lookout for a loving forever home where she can grow, thrive, and be part of a family. Her previous owners shared that Blackie is good with other dogs, although she may chase after cats. She has only lived outdoors but she is still young that she could easily learn the ropes of indoor life. Blackie doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Blackie is currently working on her leash skills and making steady progress. She’s a shy girl at first and will need a little time and patience to feel comfortable in new surroundings.

This sweet boy is now searching for a forever home where he can get all the love, attention, and care he deserves. According to his previous owners, Buster is good with other dogs, although he may chase cats. He has only ever lived outdoors but he is still young that he could easily learn the ropes of indoor life. Buster is learning all about leash walking and is making steady progress. Buster doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. While he is a bit shy at first, he just needs some time to warm up. Buster weighs 53 lbs and did wonderfully during his exam

Beans came to us as an owner surrender. We are told Beans is 2-year-old neutered male Heeler Mix. Beans owners told us that he is great with kids, cats, dogs, housebroken and crate trained. Beans is not good with chickens he wants to play with them and doesn’t understand how big he is. Beans doesn’t mind the other dogs here at the shelter! Beans has shown us that he loves treats and will soak up all the attention you want to give him. Beans did great for his exam where he weighs in at 37 lbs.
