Time traveling back to 1780 -1810

The Darke County Parts held their annual Prairie Days on September 24th and 25th.

Director Roger van Frank opened the event on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Aleiha Fenton from the Greenville Wavaires sang the National Anthem, Fred Dean from the Color Guard raised the flag.

This was the last time that van Frank opened the Prairie Days – he’ll retire by the end of this year.

Visitors of this great family event could learn a lot about how life has been in this time period: there was apple butter cooking over the fire; pioneers in and around the Log House showed how people lived at that time, and much more. And there was entertainment for all ages.

The Prairie Days are THE event for Darke County Parks.
