Ansonia FFA Greenhouse Management class assist preschoolers in tree planting

0 0

The Ansonia FFA Greenhouse Management class had a wonderful opportunity to work with preschoolers on a special Mother’s Day project—planting marigolds! This hands-on experience featured several interactive stations. At the potting station, students helped the preschoolers plant their marigolds while discussing the growing medium. At the watering station, they demonstrated proper watering techniques for healthy plants. The container station introduced various seed-starting trays and plant containers. The activity concluded with a brief tour of the shed and storage area, giving students a look into the “behind-the-scenes” operations and the equipment checkout process.

This experience allowed the high school students to apply what they’ve learned throughout the semester, while also practicing leadership, teamwork, and mentoring skills.
