Brenda Ann Pitman passed away on May 6, 2025, in Ft. Worth, Texas, at the age of 62. Born on August 28, 1962, in Greenville, Ohio, Brenda’s life was marked by a deep appreciation for family history and a warm spirit that touched those around her.
Brenda graduated from Greenville High School and went on to attend Ohio Northern University. Her educational journey reflected a lifelong curiosity and commitment to learning—qualities that would later fuel her passion for genealogy. Brenda spent countless hours researching her family’s roots.
Brenda worked in retail her whole life. She was a store manager of Sycamore Shop in Greenville, Ohio and later at the Sycamore Shop at the Upper Valley Mall in Springfield, Ohio during the 1990’s. She also was a district manager of Carnival Shoes. She later worked at Haverty’s Furniture Stores in Ft. Worth Texas.
She was employed at Auto Nation Chevrolet North Richland Hills in Ft. Worth, Texas at her death. A beautiful Celebration of Life of Brenda was hosted by her AutoNation work family on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Brenda had a special bond with her beloved dog, Frankie. The companionship they shared brought Brenda great joy and comfort throughout the years. Those who knew her often spoke of her kind heart, bubbly personality, and generous nature—traits that made every interaction memorable. She was funny and sassy and made everyone feel at comfortable. She enjoyed a good gossip, horror movies, 80”s music, and reading.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, William A., and Wanda M. (Howell) Pitman, as well as her sister, Sandra Kay Pitman. She is survived by cousins Nancy (Robert) Meehan of Clearwater Fl., Judy Rismiller of Cincinnati, and Becky (Christopher) Fisher of Akron and numerous 2nd cousins. Every morning and night she exchanged texts with her lifelong friend, Gloria Dunaway.
May Brenda’s memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a reminder of the warmth she brought into the world.
Brenda will be interred at Swamp College Cemetery next to her parents at a later date.
