On May 15, 2023 at approximately 4:08 PM Darke County deputies along with Greenville Fire, Greenville Township Fire and Rescue were dispatched to US Route 127 and Children’s Home Bradford Road in reference to a two vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a black Cadillac SRX, driven by Jeanette Bergman, 60 of Bradford, Ohio was stopped eastbound on Children’s Home Bradford Road at US Route 127 at the posted stop sign. Bergman failed to yield the right-of-way to a northbound maroon 2015 GMC truck, driven by Chris Mestemaker, 60 of New Weston, Ohio. Both vehicles collided coming to rest on the roadway.
Mestemaker and Bergman were taken to Wayne HealthCare; their condition is unknown.
