DCCA presents Toledo Jazz Orchestra at St. Clair Memorial Hall

Darke County Center for the Arts will close its 2024-02025 season by presenting the Toledo Jazz Orchestra at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville on Saturday, May 10. The large ensemble will perform songs made famous by major big bands from the past 80 years of music history, as well as special arrangements commissioned specifically for the orchestra. These awesome musicians will thrill lovers of all kinds of good music; you will hear songs you love, played with verve and enthusiasm by artists whose years of experience have honed exceptional skills to an outstanding level. The band will be joined by New York-based vocalist April Varner, who began taking voice lessons in Toledo at age 8, and now performs with jazz legends at prestigious venues throughout the nation. She was the winner of the International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition in 2023, and has recently released her debut album, April by April Varner.

This show is made possible thanks to support from the Coppock-Hole Trust, Lydia E. Schauer Memorial Trust Fund, and the Ohio Arts Council Artists on Tour Grant.
