Thanks to a generous grant, the Garst Museum is offering local Darke County fourth-grade students a free school field trip experience, including reimbursement of school transportation costs. The museum, located just a short distance from local schools, provides an exciting opportunity for students to explore Ohio’s rich heritage, including its history, places, regions, and native entrepreneurs.
Schools wanting to schedule a field trip now or in the future are encouraged to call the museum.
This free field trip opportunity directly supports Ohio’s Learning Standards, giving students an enriching educational experience related to key curriculum topics. The museum’s exhibits are a perfect fit for 4th-grade students studying Ohio’s history and the contributions of Ohioans. Plus, it’s conveniently located so students (and teachers) don’t have to worry about long travel times and returning before the school day ends.
Students will spend about 2.5 hours exploring the museum, with students organized into rotating groups to ensure everyone gets a chance to experience all of the museum’s main wings.
For more information, school teachers and parents are encouraged to contact the Garst Museum at 937-548-5250 or caitlyn.clark@garstmuseum.org.
