Perry M. Carpenter, 78, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio.
He was born on April 23, 1945, in Greenville to the late Virgil and Hilda (Smith) Carpenter.
In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his brothers in law, Robert Hughes, Kenneth Flood and Tom Hope.
Perry lived his whole life in Darke County. He loved being at the Great Darke County Fair and could likely be found around the races at the family wagon or at the horse barn. He and his family enjoyed trail riding all over the state.
Perry is survived by his son, Michael (Alexis Bingham) Carpenter and his daughter, Megan (Raymond) Gower; his grandchildren, Bryson, Ashtyn and Weston Gower; his sisters, Patricia Hope, Portia Hughes and Priscilla Flood; as well numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will take place at Bass Cemetery in Greenville.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Perry’s memory, to Darke County Harness Horseman’s Association, Attn. Tim Reck, 3885 St. Rt. 49, Arcanum, Ohio 45304.
