Robin S. (Wicker) Bruner, age 69, of New Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at her home.
She was born on April 15, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Herbert “Gib” Wicker and Agnes (Bailey) Wicker Florence. After her father’s death, Robin was also raised by her late stepfather, Carl Florence.
In addition to her parents, Robin was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Bruner, whom she married on September 12, 1975 and who passed away on July 6, 2023; her grandsons, Marcus Jackson and Austin Bruner; her siblings, Jackie (Bob) Woodworth and Pam (Larry) Cox; her father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Elizabeth (Ary) Bruner; and her in-laws, Phyllis (Danny) Patrick, and Judy (Max) Sharp.
Robin is survived by her children, Marcy (Terry) Jackson of Harrison, Ohio, Matthew (Stacy) Bruner of Eldorado, Ohio, and Melanie (Ted) Miller of New Paris, Ohio; her grandchildren, Terrin Jackson, Haley Miller, Alex Jackson, Teddy Miller, Aaron Bruner, Caleb Miller, Alan Bruner, and Chris Miller; her siblings, Sandy Carrol of Texas, Bob (Carol) Wicker of Winchester, Indiana, Vicki (Wayne) Schroeder of Aurora, Indiana, Diane Lindsey of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Lori Young of Fort Recovery, Ohio; her in-laws, Robert (Glenna) Bruner of Arcanum, Ohio, Charles “Chuck” (Marilyn) Bruner of Arcanum, Ohio, and Tom (Shirley) Bruner of New Madison, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A proud graduate of Tri-Village High School in 1974, Robin dedicated much of her life to the betterment of those around her. For many years, she worked at the New Madison Grocery Store and devoted 28 years to the Tri-Village Schools as a paraprofessional. Throughout her career, Robin found great joy in supporting students with disabilities, forging friendships that lasted long beyond her time in the classroom.
Robin was a faithful member of the New Madison United Methodist Church, where she contributed her time and talents by assisting with funeral dinners and teaching Bible school. Her unwavering servant heart touched the lives of many, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
An avid quilter and sewer, Robin often enjoyed these pursuits alongside her granddaughter, creating cherished memories together. Family was at the core of Robin’s life; she thrived on having her home filled with love, laughter, and the presence of her family. Robin delighted in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities, always the proud supporter cheering them on.
Her passions extended beyond her family as she found joy in gardening, canning, cooking, and baking, often ensuring that her home was a welcoming haven filled with delicious food for anyone who might stop by. Thursdays were special days for Robin, as she cherished playing cards with her friends, and in her quieter moments, she loved to piece together puzzles.
A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the New Madison United Methodist Church with Pastor David Richey officiating.
Guests may visit with Robin’s family on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Tribute Funeral Homes, Greenville Campus and from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday at the church.
