Congratulations, Sergeant Matthew Prickett!
We are proud to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sergeant Matthew Prickett on his graduation from the Supervisory Training and Education Program (STEP), alongside 40 dedicated classmates from across the state.
STEP is no ordinary program. It is a rigorous and comprehensive leadership development course requiring over 100 hours of intensive coursework spanning 21 leadership-focused modules. Designed to prepare law enforcement supervisors for the complex challenges of leadership, STEP pushes participants to grow not only professionally but personally. The curriculum emphasizes communication, decision-making, ethics, and team management — all essential traits for those in supervisory roles.
Graduating from STEP is no small feat. It demands nearly three weeks away from home, daily responsibilities, and families — a sacrifice that reflects a deep commitment to public service and professional excellence. Sergeant Prickett’s completion of this program speaks volumes about his dedication, perseverance, and aspiration to lead with integrity and purpose.
To Sergeant Prickett and each of the STEP graduates: your hard work, determination, and willingness to go above and beyond have not gone unnoticed. Your communities are stronger, and your departments are better because of the leadership qualities you continue to cultivate.
We salute you and wish you continued success and safety in your careers. Congratulations once again, Sergeant Prickett — your achievement is something to be proud of!
