Shirley Rae (Roadcap) McKee, age 77, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at Ayden Healthcare. Born on January 17, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, Shirley was the cherished daughter of the late Patricia L. (Campbell) and Elverton “Steve” Roadcap Sr.
On April 2, 1965, Shirley married the love of her life, Larry O. McKee. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Their bond was unbreakable and enduring.
A member of New Beginnings of God Church, Shirley found joy and strength in her faith and was known for her passion for singing. Her voice lifted spirits and touched the hearts of many who knew her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her dear son, Larry O. McKee Jr. as well as her siblings: Elverton “Steve” Roadcap, Jr, Dorothy L. Blanken, Ralph “Chip” Roadcap and S. “Buddy” Roadcap. Though their absence leaves a profound void, her memory will continue to live on through the family she loved so deeply.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry O. McKee, Sr., and her grandchildren: Brandon McKee, Jesse McKee, Jessica McKee, Nick McKee. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren: Hannah McKee, Brooklyn McKee, Neveah McKee, Bentley McKee, Acelynn Zawosky, and Lilly Zawosky.
Shirley’s legacy is one of love, warmth, and song—a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished.
