Things are heating up at Greenville Public Library just in time for summer!
Beginning Wednesday, June 4, we’ll be hosting our annual Summer Reading program for all ages! To kick off the festivities, we’re having an all-day party, complete with a Lemonade Bar from 1 to 4 p.m. Stop by to have a cookie and make your favorite flavor or try something new!
All kids that register on the 4th will be entered into a drawing for a special Color Your World themed prize basket! Crafts will be available in the Storytime Room for kiddos as well.
To participate, kids 10 and under that register will receive a booklet they can use to track their reading. Each week, they’ll be asked to read 20 minutes a day for five days. Once completed, they can turn in their sheets at the Circulation Desk for weekly incentive prizes. Each entry will also be placed into the grand prize drawing for a Nintendo Switch as well as other awesome prizes!
Ages 11 to 18 can pick up a reading sheet to track minutes read this summer. For each 500 minutes, an entry slip can be returned to the Circulation Desk for an incentive. There’s no limit to how many slips you can enter, and each entry goes towards the grand prize drawing for a pair of Beats Headphones or other cool prizes!
Adults: It’s time for you to be rewarded for all the reading you do, too!
Whether you read fiction, nonfiction, audiobooks, e-books, or magazines, you can enter to win a wide variety of prizes during our annual Summer Reading Program!
This year will feature six fun and fabulous prize baskets to choose from, including a cast iron package, tailgating kit, and even a wine basket! (Must be 21 years of age to be eligible for this prize!)
As in the past, you can fill out a slip for everything you read, then place that entry into the drawing of your choice. In addition to being entered into that prize drawing, all entries will be included in the grand prize drawing for a 30-inch Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smoker!
Entries will be collected until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 and will not be accepted after this time. The prize drawing will take place on Monday, July 28, with winners being notified by phone.
