The Animal Shelter has 4 new dogs waiting for their fur-ever homes

The Darke County Animal Shelter has 4 new dogs available for adoption. For one longtime resident 1/2 of the adoption fee has been sponsored. Please check him out!

They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped.

The Shelter’s visiting hours are Monday-Friday 8am-11:45 am and 1 pm-4pm. Saturday only by appointment. The Shelter is located at 5066 County Home Rd. Greenville, OH 45331 and you can reach them at 937-547-1645

This handsome man arrived at the shelter as a stray, and while his history is unknown, his wonderful personality is already shining through! From what we have seen, we believe Emmit is a distinguished 3-year-old intact male Terrier Mix. He is a smart boy who knows how to sit and loves treat. Emmit is a very sweet boy who loves to soak all the attention you will give him. He is also currently learning to walk nicely on a leash and does not seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Emmit may have an untold story, but he is ready to write a fantastic new chapter with his forever family! Emmit did great for his nail trim and exam where he weighed in at 56 lbs.

This beautiful girl came to us as a stray, so our knowledge about her background is limited. Everything we know is based on what we have observed here at the shelter. We believe Savannah is a 2 1/2-year-old female Shepherd Mix with a sweet and gentle nature. She may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she absolutely loves attention. Savannah is currently learning to walk on a leash and is making steady progress. Savannah has shown us she knows how to sit, loves to play ball and enjoys a treat or two. She does not seem to mind the other dogs at the shelter. Savannah is patiently waiting for a loving forever home where she can truly shine. If you are looking for a loyal companion with a tender heart, Savannah might just be the perfect match for you. Savannah did great for her nail trim and exam where she weighs in at 33 lbs.

Spunky is an adorable Doodle mix who came to us as a stray. While we don’t know much about his past, we have gotten to know him during his time here — and he’s truly a sweetheart! Spunky is estimated to be a 1-year-old intact male Doodle Mix. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who we think would make a perfect dog for someone looking for a loving companion. So far, Spunky has shown us that: he loves to play ball, enjoys treats and attention He is currently learning to walk on a leash and doesn’t seem to to mind other dogs here at the shelter. Spunky is ready to leave his past behind and find a forever home where he can thrive and be loved. Could that be with you? Spunky did great for his nail trim and exam where he weighs in at 34 lbs.

Zoe came to us as a stray, so our knowledge about her is limited — everything we know is based on what we’ve observed here at the shelter.We believe Zoe is a 1-year-old female Shepherd Mix. She’s a very sweet girl who absolutely loves attention. Zoe has already shown us she knows how to sit and is treats are involved! She enjoys soaking up the sunshine and spending time outdoors. Zoe doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Zoe did great for her exam where she weighs in at 34 lbs.
