2022 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway

It was the last race weekend for 2022 at Eldora Speedway.

4 feature races (and of course the qualifying and heats) made it a(nother) great event: USAC Midget, USAC Sprint, ASCoC Sprint and USAC Silver Crown.

All results are at the end of the post, photos are in our gallery!

In the USAC Midget 2 female Racers were on the start: 21 years old Kaylee Bryson and 22 (ok, almost 23) years old Taylor Reimer, btw. both of them from Oklahoma. Kaylee started racing go-karts in 2011 and in 2022 she’s competing in USAC, POWRi and Late Models. Taylor started racing go carts in 2005 at the age of 6. 2021 she came back from a 6 year break she took from racing in order to pursue academics.

But let’s get to the action!

The 25-lap Midget feature was won by Chris Windom with the #4, winner of the second heat. He won the feature the second time in a row. Windom took the lead in lap three and kept it until finish line.

Two crashs need to be mentioned: Moles, being on position 5, touched the wall, damaged his car heavily but was able to walk away and in lap 17, one of the rear tires of the car in position 2 came apart, the car went into the turned around a couple of times into the way of the car in the third position, leading to a collision and making both cars flip a couple of times. Looked horrible, but fortunately both drivers could walk away on their own!

In the USAC Sprint feature, local (if we count Union City, IN as local…) racer Brady Bacon finished 3rd (starting from position 5). He won one of the heats, but couldn’t win the feature.

Winner of the 30-laps USAC Sprint feature was Justin Grant, who started from position 3.

Like in the Midget feature, a crash with 2 cars involved. The car on 16th position touched the all and flipped a couple of times, the car on position 18 got involved, also flipping a few times and also like in the Midget feature, both drivers -fortunately- walked away on their own!

The 30-laps All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) Sprint Feature was won by Tyler Courtney.

The 50-laps USAC Silver Crown feature was won by Logan Seavey who started from position 3. And like for Chris Windom in the Midget feature, it was the second win of this feature in a row for Seavey. Savey took the lead in lap 9 and kept it until finish line!
