Allen J. Baxter age 92, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away at 3:26 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at UC West Chester Hospital.
Allen was born July 21, 1930, in Naples, New York, to the late Clarence A. & Myrna (Tracy) Baxter. Allen was also preceded in death by a brother, Tracy S. Baxter; and sister, Pat Naracong.
Allen is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene (Knick) Baxter; children, Scott & Liz White of Caldwell, Idaho, Nan & Jim Porter of Lima, New York, and Jeffrey & Lisa Baxter of New Richmond, Ohio; grandchildren, Craig White, Travis White, Ross Porter, Shane Porter, Corinne Porter and Andrew Baxter; and 1 great grandchild.
Allen served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1951 – 1954 as a Fire Control Technician. Allen graduated from Alfred University in Alfred, New York, with a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering. He retired after 38 years of service in the Glass Industry.
A private graveside service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Greenville with Pastor Alliyah Greaver officiating.
