Dale James Baker age 82, of Greenville passed away at 8:24 PM on Monday, October 4, 2021, at his residence.
Dale was born August 17, 1939, in Greenville to the late Elmer & Lucille (Petry) Baker. In addition to his parents, Dale was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gene Petry.
Dale is survived by his wife, Karla (Schubert) Baker whom he married December 24, 1993; daughter, Sandy (Randy) Cox of Palestine; son, Daniel Baker; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 expected; brother, Marvin (Mary) Baker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Janice Petry of Fountain City, Indiana; mother-in-law, Lois Jacobs of Portland, Indiana; sister-in-law, Kathy (Rick) Neargarder of Union City, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale retired from Fram Corporation, Greenville in 2001 where he had worked for 44 years. Dale showed horses all his life, he started with pulling ponies with his father. Dale started contesting in the early 1960’s all over the United States and competed in World Championships. Dale worked the south end arena at the fair for numerous years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson with Pastor Dean Frame officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville.
