Edison State Honors AVI Chef Don Walters

Edison State Community College presented Don Walters, AVI Chef, with an honorary associate degree during the College’s 47th annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 13.

“The events, conferences, and meetings at Edison State benefit from the special touch of Don Walters. He goes above and beyond in food preparation and display every time,” said Edison State President Dr. Doreen Larson.

Walters has dedicated his professional career to Edison State, and his work has become a hallmark of major college events. Whether preparing for a small gathering or an event with hundreds of attendees, Walters uses his creative talents to ensure events at the College are enjoyable and memorable.

A vital member of the Edison State community, Walters is an active advisor on college projects. He is a respected professional and community member, reflecting the core values of the College in his professional and personal life.

“Don’s children are graduates of Edison State, and he is a powerful ambassador for the College on and off campus,” added Larson. “It’s a true pleasure to recognize Don’s contributions.”
