FEBRUARY 6, 1965 – JANUARY 28, 2023
Edward L. Whittaker, 57, of Versailles, Ohio passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at EverHeart Hospice, Greenville, Ohio, surrounded by family. Born in Darke County on February 6, 1965 he was the son of the late Nevin and Wanda (Mendenhall) Whittaker. He is also preceded in death by his brother Ted Whittaker: sister-in-laws Deb Whittaker and Barb Monnin: father-in-law Donald Monnin.
Ed is survived by his wife of 29 years, Brenda (Monnin) Whittaker, whom he married on May 21, 1994: his daughter Chelsea Whittaker (Austin Perkins): brother Tom & Deeann Whittaker: sister Dixie Whittaker (Kelly Caupp): mother-in-law Leona Monnin: sister-in-law Rhonda Dross: brother-in-laws Duane Monnin; Alan Monnin (Ray Rayburg); Darryl & Julie Monnin; Arnold & Jeanna Monnin: also numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog “Lily”.
Ed was a graduate of Ansonia High School. Ed worked at Carter Lumber for a number of years, and Menards until his retirement. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles. Ed always had a fun sense of humor, and a joy to be around. He enjoyed working out in their flower beds, and had a love for stuffed teddy bears. He will be deeply missed.
Friends may call on the family on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5:00- 8:00 PM at the Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 AM with Fr. Ned Brown officiating on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Denis Catholic Church, with a visitation from 9-10 AM prior at the funeral home.
