Empowering Darke County Youth is looking for a coordinator

Empowering Darke County Youth, after school tutoring program, is looking for a coordinator that is interested in helping students in Greenville School.

The program can be run by your design with EDCY Board approval. This is a tutoring program provided to teacher recommended students at no cost to the parents.

Last year we had a successful year using high school students from Amy Schoen and Lisa Maher-Strawser’s classes for tutoring, and it worked out very well. We had some excellent tutors that connected with the kids very quickly.

As the coordinator you will be paid monthly for that position and further compensation for the hours that you tutor. All of the needed curriculum and materials are ready to go for the upcoming year. In the past we have had tutoring for grades 1-4 and 5-8. Last year we only provided 1-4 tutoring but there was interest from the 5-8 principals to be a part of our program as well.

There again, it would be your program to design. If you are someone that is interested in helping students achieve and feel successful, this may be the place for you. Programs in Arcanum, Ansonia and Mississinawa have already started and Bradford is on its way.

We would love to hear from you if this is something that appeals to you please contact me: Kay Sloat at 937-423-8076 or email me at kaysloat@yahoo.com for more details.

Thank you, Kay Sloat
