SEPTEMBER 24, 1943 – JULY 31, 2022
Gary Eugene Voke age 78, of Greenville passed away at 4:10 am Sunday, July 31, 2022, at EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville.
Gary was born September 24, 1943, in Greenville to the late Walter Voke & Doris Mae (Riffle) Voke Mikesell. In addition to his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by his step father, Delmar Mikesell.
Gary is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith A. (Enicks) Voke; children, Lonnie & Monica Voke of new Madison, Tamy & Vince Metzcar of Troy and Darrin & Heather Voke of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer & Gabe McWhinney, Brittany Voke, Morgan Voke, Jace Metzcar and Caleb Metzcar; and great grandchildren, Kylie, Cora, Gavin and Landon McWhinney.
Gary retired from GM in Dayton with 30 years of service. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Gary was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting deer, turkeys and going fishing. He enjoyed doing yardwork.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Sylvia McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. It is the wishes of the family that everyone attending either the visitation or service dress casually.
