Drugs

On September 11th, 2023, at approximately 11:09 AM police observe a White 2006 Nissan Altima being operated east bound on Water Street near Broadway Street. Through LEADS/NCIC PO confirmed the owner of the listed vehicle, Lisa Garcia, was under a driving suspension. Lisa was found to have an Indiana License that was under suspension, and her Ohio License were also under suspension for non-compliance from 7/28/23 to indefinite. PO observed a female operating the vehicle and made a traffic stop. PO approached the vehicle and confirmed the owner of the vehicle was sitting in the backseat. PO confirmed the driver of the vehicle to be Sherry Hensley, and a front seat passenger to be Jeremy Martinez. While speaking with the three subjects PO requested a K9 for assistance. While waiting on the driving status of Sherry PO asked to search the vehicle. Lisa agreed to a consent search and then a Deputy arrived on scene. PO ask the Deputy to perform an open air sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in positive alert. PO then proceeded to search the car’s interior and the occupants of the vehicle. While searching Lisa she kept wanting to lift her left foot off the ground. PO had to tell her several times to keep her foot on the ground. She was wearing boots, and while searching inside the boot near her ankle PO observed the top of a clear baggie. PO took the baggie out of her shoe and it contained what appeared to be Methamphetamine. The item was taken as evidence. Lisa denied knowing the item was in her shoe. All three subjects were released from the scene. The substance was taken to the Greenville Police Department and placed into property. This case will be sent to the Darke County Prosecutor’s office pending lab results.

Drugs

On September 15, 2023 at 3:55 police was dispatched to 1350 Sweitzer Street, Speedway South in reference to an occupied suspicious vehicle. The complainant advised there was a silver Honda parked in front of the store for approximately an hour, and the occupant did not enter the store during this period of time. PO observed a male in the front drivers seat sleeping. PO knocked on the window and the male woke up. PO asked the male, identified as Shawn Grant what he was doing and he advised he just got there and was going to go inside the store. PO advised Shawn of the complaint. During this time PO observed a glass device with white and brown residue on the inside, in plain view on the dashboard near the windshield. From the PO’s experience, he know this device to be used to inhale illegal narcotics. PO advised Shawn to exit his vehicle and that PO would be searching the vehicle due to his observation. Shawn exited his vehicle and PO performed a pat down and did not locate any contraband. Shawn was advised to stand near the cruiser with another P.0. while PO performed a probable cause search of his vehicle. During the search PO located a small baggy of a white crystal like substance, on the drivers seat underneath a cushion, where Shawn was sitting. PO also observed a lighter in the driver’s seat with a small baggy. Inside the small baggy were two smaller baggies containing white unknown substances. PO also located a baggy of a green leafy vegetation, a metal case with two razor blades and a small straw and what appeared and smelled like a marijuana cigarette. PO also located a second glass smoking device without residue behind the drivers seat. PO read Shawn his Miranda warnings which he stated he understood. PO then asked Shawn why the items were in his vehicle. Shawn stated the items belonged to a female named Rachel. He stated he picked Rachel up near the fairgrounds earlier on 9/14/23. Shawn stated he and Rachel “smoked meth’ on 9/14/23 before he drove her to Sherwood forest to an unknown trailer. Shawn denied all these items being his except the suspected marijuana. PO advised Shawn he was not going to be arrested, but the suspected narcotics would be sent to the lab to be tested. Shawn agreed to have a ride pick him up due to the admission of drug use within the last 24 hours, and she arrived a short time later. This case is pending lab results of the suspected narcotics.

Trespassing

On September 15th 2023 at 10:52 PM police was dispatched to 510 Harrison Avenue in reference to a trespassing complaint. PO met with complainant Sarah Fleming. Sarah stated that approximately 5 minutes before she contacted GPD, Keith Mitchell came onto her property, yelling and knocking on the back door connected to the garage. Sarah stated when opening the door Keith had pushed her out of the way entering the garage and refusing to leave. Keith had left the property prior to officer arrival. Sarah’s son was home during the incident but refused to talk to an officer or fill out a witness statement. Keith was previously warned for trespass on 12/23/2020. Sarah completed a witness statement and a victim’s rights form. On September 16th 2023 at at 10:08 hours PO made contact with Keith at 403 1/2 North Gray Avenue. Keith initially stated that he was not at 510 Harrison Avenue. But later admitted that he was at 510 Harrison Avenue to buy illegal narcotics from Sarah. Keith was issued a citation for criminal trespass. He was advised of his court date and time. DVD containing video from cruiser 1930 of Keith’s admission to coming onto the property of 510 Harrison Avenue has been placed into GPD property as evidence.

CPO Violation

On September 16th 2023 at 11:08 hPM police was dispatched to 150 Ridgeview Street in reference to a CPO violation. PO made contact with complainant/victim, Katina Hollopeter. Katina advised that her husband Eric Hollopeter had shut off the services for her cell phone. Katina stated that the cell phone services were through Verizon, and the account was in Eric’s name. Katina advised that the services were shut off roughly around 9:30 hPM, while she was on the phone with her daughter. There is currently an active CPO from Katina against Eric. PO confirmed there was an active Domestic Violence Civil Protection Order issued by Darke County Common Pleas Court in case number 23DR386 effective 9/13/23 through 9/13/24. The order states Eric is prohibited from interfering with Katina’s right to occupy residence including telecommunications. The section in the CPO states residence. PO will contact GPD prosecutor to verify if that counts cell phone communications as well. This report is being sent to the Darke County Prosecutors Office for review. A witness statement and victim right’ s form were collected from Katina.

Traffic Stop

On September 18th, 2023, at approximately 2:07 PM police observed a Gray 2003 Nissan Altima being operated east bound on Martin Street near North Ohio Street. Through LEADS/NCIC PO confirmed the registration to the listed vehicle was expired since 7/13/2022. A traffic stop was made on the listed vehicle. PO approached the vehicle and the driver was confirmed to be Joshua Jenkinson. Joshua advised that the vehicle belonged to the passenger’s mother, who was deceased. The passenger was Brandon Sims, who confirmed it was his mother’s car. Brandon was advised that since the registration was so old and no way to renew it the vehicle would be towed. Dillman’s Towing arrived on scene to tow the vehicle. Joshua was issued a citation for operating the vehicle with expired plates. See tow report for further.

Domestic Violence

On September 19th, 2023, at approximately 7:00 hours Officers were dispatched to 335 East Main Street. This was in reference to a 9-1-1 hang up. The complainant, Mariah Green, advised it was an accidental dial but then there was yelling in the background. Dispatch advised they could hear Stephanie Green in the background yelling, “yeah send the cops”. POs arrived on scene in the alley near the backyard. When police arrived on scene they observed David Green with Mariah Green in the backyard. David and Stephanie Green are married and have several children together including; Mariah Green, Chase Green, and others. David and Stephanie also reside together at 335 East Main Street, their daughter Mariah also resides there. Chase had also lived with Stephanie for an extended amount of time about 12 months ago. When police arrived, David advised that Stephanie had been punching him in the arm prior to the police’s arrival. David did have bruises to his arms above the elbows. David also advised that Stephanie had punched him in the back of his right hand, he thought it may have been broken; David refused medical treatment. David advised that Stephanie also threated to kill him several times. Police also spoke to Mariah who advised that Chase Green and his fiance, Meredith Butch, had come over to the residence. Mariah advised Chase, Meredith, Stephanie, and her were inside the residence hanging out. Mariah had stepped out of the room and when she heard yelling she returned. When she returned she saw Stephanie, Chase, and Meredith fighting. That is when Mariah came outside and called the police. While speaking to Mariah, Stephanie Green came out the backdoor. PO observed Stephanie had blood around her mouth. PO tried to ask Stephanie what happened and she would not answer the PO’s questions. Stephanie was rambling about stuff unrelated to the incident. Stephanie would not answer the PO’s questions as to what happened. PO observed two other subjects inside, so PO proceeded into the residence. PO located Chase Green and Meredith Butch standing in the kitchen. Chase had redness around his face, hist-shirt was torn, and he appeared out of breath. PO observed Meredith who had a large red abrasion to her neck, a scratch to her neck, a cut to her nose. and her face was red. PO was attempting to talk to Chase and Meredith about what happened but Stephanie was continuing to interrupt. Another officer arrived on scene and was advised to take Chase and Meredith outside to get their statement. Greenville Rescue arrived on scene due to Stephanie having a cut to the inside of her upper lip. Stephanie refused to answer Greenville Rescue’ s questions. Stephanie was asked several times if she wanted to go to the hospital or receive medical treatment and she refused to answer. Greenville Rescue did mark Stephanie as a medical refusal and they left the scene. PO continued try and speak to Stephanie but she was uncooperative while speaking with police and not making any sense. There was Busch Light beer cans throughout the entire house. Stephanie appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. PO asked Stephanie who punched her in the mouth causing the laceration and she advised Meredith Butch. PO then went outside to speak with Chase and Meredith. Meredith advised that she came over with her Fiance, Chase, to his mother’s house, Stephanie. They were hanging out and listening to music using Meredith’s phone. Meredith received a text from her sister, and Stephanie started confrontation with Meredith. Stephanie was saying that Meredith and her sister wanted to sleep with Stephanie’s husband David. Meredith advised that she tried to walk away from Stephanie by going into the kitchen and was getting into the fridge. Stephanie then charged at Meredith slamming the fridge closed breaking the shelves on the inside. Stephanie then picked up the thick broken plastic from the shelves and charged Meredith again. Stephanie then grabbed Meredith’s throat and slammed her to the ground. Stephanie then started punching and pulling Meredith’s hair. Chase was able to get Stephanie off Meredith but Stephanie continued to charge at Meredith. While Stephanie was trying to get at Meredith she was punching her son, Chase numerous times in the face. Stephanie also grabbed onto Chase and ripped hist-shirt in attempts to attack Meredith. PO also spoke to Chase who confirmed Meredith’s statement. PO asked Meredith and Chase if they had punched Stephanie in the mouth and they both advised no. David refused to fill out a statement, or victims rights form. Chase. Meredith, and Mariah all filled out statement forms. Chase and Meredith both filled out victim’s rights forms and violent offender notification forms. Officers arrived inside to speak with Stephanie. They advised Stephanie she was under arrest and she said “No I’m not”. They asked Stephanie to stand up as she was sitting on the couch and she refused. PO then grabbed Stephanie’s left wrist and the otyer PO grabbed her right wrist. Stephanie again was advised she was under arrest and if she did not stop resisting she would be tased. Stephanie continued to refuse and pull her arms away from police. Stephanie was then taken to the ground in a prone position and she continued to refuse to put her arms behind her back. Police was able to get her arms in the small of her back and the handcuffs were put on. Stephanie was arrested and police then asked Stephanie to stand up which she refused and used her weight to attempt to stay on the floor. Stephanie had to be lifted off the floor and carried to the cruiser. Stephanie was placed into the rear of the cruiser and used her right leg to prevent officers from closing the door. Officers were able to get the door shut. Stephanie was asked several times if she wanted to fill out statements or press charges and she continued to ramble; never giving a definite answer. At this time not statement was collected from Stephanie. Stephanie was mirandized and transported to the Darke County Jail. Stephanie was released to Jail staff for domestic violence, assault, and resisting arrest. Photos were taken of Meredith’s injuries, Chase’s injuries, and the interior of the residence. Only a small amount of photos were taken of Stephanie at the jail reference she refused to take photos. Chase had injuries to his face including red abrasions from being punched by Stephanie. Meredith had injuries to her neck and face including cuts and red abrasions from being chocked and punched by Stephanie. Stephanie has no prior domestic violence charges.

Domestic Violence

On 09/20/23 at approximately 10:11 PM, GPD responded to 401 Anderson Ave. on a welfare check. PO met with the complainant and Judith Weaver at 401 Anderson Ave. Judith lives next door at 407 Anderson Ave. with her husband, Nick Weaver. Judith has significant mental health issues and was refusing to take her evening medications. Judith stated Nick hit her in the mouth tonight but PO did not see any injuries or blood. PO went over to 407 Anderson Ave. and spoke with Nick. He stated they had been arguing tonight because she would not take her meds. Nick denied punching Judith but said he was trying to get her meds in her mouth with his hand. Judith agreed to return home and take her meds so police escorted her home and watched her take them. Both parties were separating for the night. No children were present.

Sex offense

On September 21st, 2023 at approximately 6:16 PM police was dispatched to 222 Markwith Avenue in reference to a sex offense. PO made contact with Brittany and Benjamin Baker. Brittany stated she took her step daughter’s phone away. While looking through the phone she saw a conversation on snapchat between her step-daughter and a 15 year old male. Brittany stated that the male juvenile had sent a video of him masturbating to her step-daughter. PO could not see what the conversation was prior to the video except that the male juvenile had stated he was horny and the female juvenile responded with “Damn”. The female juvenile stated that she had been in a relationship with the male juvenile. She stated she did not remember what the conversation was before the video was sent to her. PO spoke with the female juvenile’s father. Benjamin stated that he believes the conversation was consensual and that he did not want police to contact the male juvenile. Benjamin stated he did not want his daughter charged with unruly Juvenile. Benjamin asked that PO document the incident and stated he would contact his daughter’s probation officer and make her aware of the situation.
