Theft

On February 3rd 2024 at approximately 5:13 PM police was dispatched to 1501 Wagner Avenue; Walmart in reference to a theft. PO made contact with Walmart employee Jodi Edgar. Jodi was with suspect Jacqueline Lee, in the loss prevention office. Jodi stated she observed Jacqueline take bras off the clothes hanger placing them in a plastic Walmart bag with purchased merchandise already in it. Jacqueline proceeded to the pharmacy section where she selects cold and flu medication, then proceeds to the toy section. In the Toy section Jacqueline places the medication into the same plastic Walmart bag with previous purchased merchandise. Jacqueline tied the plastic Walmart bag shut placing the bag on top of her personal belongings. Jacqueline then proceeded into the grocery section selecting multiple items then proceeded to the self check purchasing the groceries. Jacqueline makes no attempt to purchase the items that were placed in the tied up Walmart bag. Jacqueline then proceeded out the door and passed all points of sale and was stopped on the sidewalk outside the store with the stolen items. PO spoke to Jacqueline who admitted to stealing all the items that were recovered. Jodi filled out a witness statement and a victim’s rights form. In total Jacqueline stole 9 items totaling $76.79. All items were returned to Walmart. Photos of the stolen items will be attached to this report as well as a video from Walmart. Security video from the incident was placed into GPD property as evidence. Jacqueline was issued her copy of the citation and advised of her mandatory court date.

Assault

On February 3, 2024 at approximately 8:35 PM police was dispatched to 416 Warren Street in reference to an assault. PO spoke with complainant/involved person; Michelle Plessinger who stated that involved person; Aleesha Hershey had assaulted her. Michelle is the grandmother of Aleesha’s child and they have never lived together. Michelle stated that as a result of an argument between Aleesha and witness: Ethan Campbell Plessinger Aleesha approached her in a threatening manner after she took Ethan’s side in an argument. Ethan is Michelle’s son and shares a child with Aleesha. Michelle stated that she pushed Aleesha as she approached her after which Aleesha threw a candle at her striking her in the throat and the two began to fight. Michelle stated that her son/witness; Mason Plessinger had to pull Aleesha off of her after which Aleesha left the residence and Michelle contacted the police. Michelle had visible injuries to her arm and neck that she stated were from Aleesha. Contact was made with Aleesha who stated that as a result of an argument between her and Ethan she had been assaulted by Michelle and later Mason after Michelle asked for his help. Aleesha stated that as she was being assaulted she grabbed an unknown item and threw it at Michell in order to defend herself and to allow her to leave the residence. Aleesha stated that she did not have any visible injuries but her back had gotten injured as a result of the incident and she had been struck in the body multiple times by Michelle. While the incident occurred Aleesha was reported to have her daughter with her. She was reported to not have any injuries that resulted from the incident though was reported to have some red marks on her legs. All parties denied needing any medical treatment. Michelle and Aleesha both completed a witness statement form that will be attached to this report. Michelle and Aleesha both denied wanting to file charges for assault against one another. At this time no further follow up is needed.
