Animal Problem

On March 2, 2024 at approximately 11:12 PM police was dispatched to 307 Riffle Avenue in reference to an animal problem. While enroute to the residence PO was advised by dispatch that the complainant/defendant; Tina Patterson had contacted dispatch and stated that two of her dogs had gotten out of her yard. She advised she wanted them taken to the animal shelter if they were found because she no longer wanted them. Upon my arrival in the area PO observed two dogs in the road at 11th Street and Hart Avenue. The dogs appeared to be a white Pitbull as well as a Pug that matched the description of Tina’s dogs. PO attempted to capture the dogs several times but was unable to get close to them because they kept running away. After being unable to catch the dogs PO went to 307 Riffle Avenue to speak with Tina at her residence. Upon making contact with Tina she confirmed she was the complainant and that the two dogs belonged to her. Tina stated she wasn’t going to attempt to find her dogs because it was too late at night. She stated if police caught them to take them to the animal shelter because she no longer wanted them. Tina was advised that if she no longer wished to own the dogs that she could speak with the animal shelter when they are open, but until that point she was responsible for them. Tina was cited for dogs at large and issued her copy of the citation as well as being advised of her court date. Tina was advised to attempt to find her dogs because if the they remained at large she could receive additional citations. The dog warden was contacted and advised of the dogs at large.

Drugs

On March 4, 2024 at 8:48 PM, police was dispatched to Walmart, 1501 Wagner Avenue, Greenville, Ohio, in reference to a found property complaint, which included suspected marijuana. PO spoke to Jodi Edger, loss prevention employee. Jodi stated on March 3, 2024 at approximately 10:00 PM, employees found a black soft sided lunch box and a plastic bag containing miscellaneous items in the cash register area located in the front of Walmart. While looking through the found items, PO found the lunch box contained 52 grams of suspected marijuana, hashish and THC items, along with a pill bottle containing an unknown amount of Lorazepam l mg tablets prescribed to Chet Musselman Jr. The lunch box, along with the plastic bag also contained other miscellaneous items, clothes and toiletries. PO attempted to make contact with Musselman Jr. at the two telephone numbers listed in the Greenville Police Department’s in-house computer system, Spillman. Utilizing one telephone number, PO spoke to Amy Mote, Musselman Jr.’s mother. Mote stated Musselman was not present, thus PO informed Mote, the Greenville Police Department is in possession of personal property which may belong to Musselman Jr. Mote indicated she would forward this information to Musselman Jr. Mote further stated the second telephone number listed for Musselman Jr., is not a good contact number for Musselman Jr. The items were packaged as found property and submitted to the Greenville Police Department’s property room, Hart Avenue impound garage location.

Trash/Dumping

On March 5th, 2024 police was dispatched to 307 1/2 W Third St in reference to a trash complaint that was received by SSD Ryan Delk. PO observed a pile of old wood, a metal chair, an old metal cage and other misc. items along the side of the house. PO was unable to speak with the tenant, Marilyn Mowery. PO posted a 5 day city trash ordinance to the front door. I was able to make contact with the property owner, Harvest Hill, they were made aware of the situation. E-mail was sent to Ryan Delk advising him of the notice being issued.

Trash/Dumping

On March 5, 2024 at 12:10 PM police was dispatched to 307 W Third St in reference to a trash complaint that was received by the SSD Ryan Delk. PO observed tires, old metal siding and other misc. items along the side of the house. PO spoke with the tenant, Morgan Mccord, who stated she just moved into the residence. Morgan also stated they are in the process of cleaning up. Morgan was issued a 5 day city trash ordinance. PO was able to make contact with the property owner, Harvest Hill, they were made aware of the situation. E-mail was sent to SSD Ryan Delk advising him of the notice being issued.

Forgery

On March 5, 2024 at approximately 2:17 PM police was dispatched to 690 Wagner Avenue (Greenville Federal) in reference to a report of counterfeit bills being passed to the bank. PO met with the complainant and bank manager, Corey Eagle. Corey advised PO that the bank had received several, what he believed to be, counterfeit bills from various businesses around Darke County. It was found, after investigation that a $5. 00, $10. 00 and a $100. 00 bill that were brought to the bank were in fact real U.S currency and given back to the bank. A $50.00 bill that is clearly marked as “for motion picture use only” was taken as property and brought back to Greenville PD and placed into property as evidence. It was found that the counterfeit currency was used at Circle Mart in Greenville, Ohio and turned into the bank at an unknown date and time in July of 2024. There are currently no leads or suspects.

Overdose

On March 5, 2024 at approximately 3:37 PM officers from the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 307 N. Main St. along with Greenville Township Rescue on an unresponsive female.

Theft

On 03-06-2024 at 10:51 AM police was dispatched to 1199 Russ Rd #C7 on a theft report. PO spoke with Timothy Blommel who stated his electric bike was stolen over night. Timothy said the bike is an all black 2023 Keteles K800 worth approx $1800.00. Timothy said he last saw his bike locked in the bike rack in Hunter’s Oak Apartment parking lot around noon on 03-05-24. Tim said he noticed it missing around 10:50 AM on 03-06-24. Tim said the bike was locked and covered with a tarp. PO observed the tarp to still be in the last known location but the lock was missing. PO checked for cameras but was unable to locate anything. Tim said he had done work on the bike so it no longer looks like the factory model, he also is unable to find any paperwork or the serial number to the bike. Timothy also stated that around 10:30 PM the night before the bike went missing he observed a white colored SUV parked at the intersection of Nottingham Dr and Greenmoore Dr. Tim said he saw two males exit the vehicle and walk toward the apartment complex. The males looked to have pulled a mask up over their noses. Once Tim noticed this he went back inside his apartment. Tim is unable to give any description of the males or vehicle. No leads at this time.

Theft

On March 7th, 2024 at approximately 12:14 PM police was dispatched to 695 Wagner Avenue, Rural King in reference to a theft not in progress. PO made contact with the Rural King loss prevention officer, Ariana Duda. Ariana advised one of the employees, Roberta Couch had stolen a pair of Ariat jeans that cost $59. 95 on March 4th, 2024. Arina showed PO video footage of Roberta placing the jeans under a cash register at approximately 1556 hours on March 4th, 2024 and Roberta left the store with the jeans on the same day at 1717 hours without paying for them. Roberta was present during this conversation. PO asked Roberta about taking the jeans. Roberta advised she does not remember taking the jeans but if the video shows that she took them then it is true. Roberta stated she did not know where the jeans are. Roberta was issued a citation for theft and was advised of her court date. PO collected a witness statement from Ariana. Ariana filled out a victim’s right’ s form. Ariana advised she would send the video footage to the PO’s email.
