Wanted Person

On April 10, 2024 at approximately 10:06 PM police was in the 100 block of Pine Street when PO observed a known female, Katrina Solis, sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle who had an active probation warrant parked in front of 151 Pine Street. PO made contact with Katrina on the passenger side of the vehicle and advised her of the active probation warrant. Katrina was advised to exit the vehicle numerous times which she failed to do so. PO then escorted her out of the vehicle and placed her in handcuffs. Dispatched confirmed the warrant through LEADS/NCIC. While searching the front passenger area of the vehicle and her purse several bags of an unknown white crystal substance were located. Katrina was transported to the Darke County Jail for the probation warrant and is held on no bond.

Harassment

On April 12th, 2024 police was dispatched to 1325 Benden way on a harassment complaint. PO spoke with Brittany Gray in reference to her ex Philip ”rich” Patton harassing her and stalking her. Brittany stated that the two of them broke up at the beginning of March and now he’s constantly texting her, or sending her emails and following her. Brittany showed PO the text messages of Philip sending her multiple messages throughout the day since they had broken up. Brittany said she has blocked him but Richard created fake email accounts trying to communicate with her. Brittany showed PO over 100 emails that Philip has been sending to her and if she blocks the email he will just create another one. Brittany also said she is currently seeing another guy and this angered Philip so he is starting to drive by her work and home. Brittany lives in Troy and stated she has seen him drive by her apartment multiple times, Philip will also text her telling her he knows where she is at and the location will be correct. Brittany is in fear of Philip and wants him to leave her alone. PO told Brittany that she needs to block him from everything and make sure her children have him blocked from everything. PO told her that once he is blocked from all things PO will speak with him and give him the warning for telecommunications harassment. PO told Brittany to see if her place of work has cameras and if they will capture him driving by multiple times. PO also stated she needs to contact Troy PD to advise them of Philip driving by her house, and that we will patrol the area more when she is at work. PO made Brittany aware of the possibility of a obtaining a protection order, or a restraining order against home. PO arrived at 1355 MAR DEL DR Apt 4 and spoke with Philip. PO told him about the complaint and stated that Brittany wants left alone with no contact from him. PO told him that he had seen the messages and emails and he was warned for telecommunications, as well as made him aware of the charge if he continues. Philip said he works in Greenville and lives here so that is why he sees her. He also said he is close with her children, he was made aware that the messages and emails weren’t about the kids and to just drop it and leave her and the kids alone.

Burglery (not in progress)

On April 12, 2024 at approximately at 1:27 PM police was dispatched to 122 West Main Street in reference to a burglary not in progress. PO spoke to Denise Addis who stated someone broke into her house and took documents out of her safe. She stated there was a broken window to an upstairs bedroom as well as other items moved around to different places. We then had Denise meet police at her residence at 203 North Main Street. Denise stated she has not been living at the house and the last time she was at the house was in March but stated she did not notice anything. Denise also stated that the last time she saw the documents was in July of 2023. The documents missing included Jeffery Addis’ birth certificate, Denise Addis’ birth certificate, naturalization certificate and Mathew Addis’ birth certificate, social security card, ID card, and death certificate. The safe was located in the bedroom downstairs next to the entrance to the home. Denise stated that she does not remember if she locked the safe. There were no signs of forced entry into the safe or on any of the exterior doors. The broken window was only sign of damage and entry to the window was only accessible by ladder. Denise stated she did not know who would have broken in the house. PO then spoke to Tabitha Pease at 207 North Main Street. Tabitha stated she believed it was Trevor Newbauer as she has seen him many times in the area and stated he used to live there. A Det. swabbed the safe. Pictures were taken of the house and attached to this report. Tabitha Pease stated that her cameras did not get anything and that she would give police a call if she found anything. Denise filled out a written statement and a victim rights form. Officers also spoke to several other neighbors but nobody had any further leads. This case will need further investigation.

Theft (not in progress)

On April 12, 2024 at approximately 4:36 PM police responded to 1501 Wagner Avenue; Walmart, in reference to a theft. Dispatch advised Jodi, an employee at Walmart and worker in Asset Protection, witnessed the defendant, later identified as Jason Bruggeman, place a drone outside the store gates in the garden section and continue to check out other items excluding the drone. Jodi advised Jason has done this in the past in an incident that occurred on April 8, 2024. Jodi stated Jason was checking out and would be wearing a gray sweatshirt with a brown hat and driving a white pick up truck. Contact was made with Jason in the parking lot of Walmart. Jason advised he had a receipt for the items he had purchased which he provided officers. Jason was escorted to the loss prevention office where he was warned for trespass on Walmart property. While in the loss prevention office, Jodi stated she witnessed Jason return to his vehicle prior to officer’s arrival and drive to the garden section gates and get out but did not retrieve the drone. Jodi questioned Jason about the April 8 incident where Jason placed a JBL Pulse 5 speaker ( totaling $229.00) outside the gates in the garden section and retrieved it after he finished checking out without paying for the speaker. Jason admitted to taking the speaker without paying for it and also admitted his intentions of doing the same thing with the drone in this incident. Jason filled out a statement form stating he agreed with Walmart’s statements and admitted to the April 8 incident. Jodi provided video footage of the incident, a receipt of the speaker with a picture of the type of speaker that was stolen, a victim rights form, and a statement form. Jason was issued a copy of his citation for theft regarding the April 8, 2024 incident and was advised of his mandatory court date.

Domestic Violence

On April 12, 2024 at approximately 6:08 PM police responded to 123 Deshler Avenue in reference to a third party report of physical domestic. There was no answer at the front or back door. After approximately five minutes of trying to make contact, Sonya Lopez and Lachaz Boyce opened the back door. Lachaz and Sonya are in a dating relationship and live together at the residence with their two children. Lachaz first refused to identify and advised there was no issue. Lachaz stated, shortly after, that the two were in a verbal argument while Sonya was on the phone with her mother, the complainant, Yvonne Schimandle.. Lachaz advised he and Sonya’s mother do not get along and that she was trying to cause issues. Neither party had any visible injuries and both denied any physical altercation. An Eight year old was present during this altercation. BCI only.

Traffic Stop

On April 12, 2024 at approximately 10:26 PM police observed a vehicle bearing the license plate JZH3768 travelling westbound on Martin Street. PO made a traffic stop on the listed vehicle in the 100 block of Bellevernon Avenue due to him not using a signal of intention while turning left. PO made contact with the defendant/driver, Keith Mitchell, of the vehicle and advised him of the reason for the stop. He stated he did not have his driver’s license on him and stated his driving privileges were currently suspended. Dispatch confirmed through LEADS/NCIC his driving privileges were under a non-compliance suspension from 3-29-24 to indefinite and the vehicle registration was expired on June 11, 2023. Based on the driver’s driving privileges being suspended and the vehicle registration being expired, the vehicle was towed by Dillman’s Towing. An inventory of the vehicle was conducted with photos taken of the vehicle prior to Dillman’s Towing arriving.

Dog Bite

On April 13, 2024 at approximately 10:05 AM police was dispatched to 225 Glenwood Drive referencing a dog bite. PO spoke to Seana Marlow who stated she was mowing her yard and two black lab mixes came up to her and the dog with short hair bit her on the thigh. Seana stated she that the dogs belonged to her neighbor Kyle Beavins at 224 Glenwood. Seana signed a refusal from Greenville rescue. Seana stated she did not want Kyle cited for dogs at large. PO then spoke to Kyle via phone and he stated that the dogs were his and has since been put inside. Kyle was warned for animal at large. The dog warden was also contacted and advised of this incident.

Noise Complaint

On April 15, 2024 at 7:20 AM police was dispatched to 214 Surrey Lane in reference to a noise complaint. PO contacted the complainant, Shawn Parks at his residence; 212 Surrey Lane. Shawn advised that approximately 20 minutes prior to calling, he was woke up by loud music coming from his neighbors shed at 214 Surrey Lane. Shawn advised this is not the first time it has happened and that it lasted for approximately 15 minutes. Shawn provided a written statement, please refer to his statement for best evidence. PO then contacted Kaleb Bowman who resides at 214 Surrey Lane. Kaleb stated that it was him who was playing the music in the shed. He stated it was too loud and after he realized that, he turned it down. PO advised Kaleb he would be cited for the noise violation as it disturbed the quiet of the neighboring inhabitants. Robert Delaney who also resides at 214 Surrey Lane was issued nuisance abatement paperwork on 12/2/2020 and 9/6/21 at this address. Robert was not home at the time of this incident but will be issued a citation for nuisance abatement for allowing nuisance activity continue at this property. Robert will also be served new nuisance abatement paperwork as well. Shawn was provided a victims rights form and he completed the form. This form ill be included with this report.
