Forgery

On July 28, 2023 at approximately 10:10 AM police was dispatched to 122 West Main Street; Greenville Police Department in reference to a forgery. Police spoke with the CEO of Darke County YMCA/ Witness; Sam Casalano and employee of Darke County YMCA/ witness; Joy Leonard. Joy and Sam stated that while Joy was reviewing bank transactions, as part of her position, she noticed that a business check from the Darke County YMCA had been fraudulently cashed in the amount of $7,529.00. Joy reported the fraudulent check had cleared the bank for the amount of $7,529.00. The check number of the fraudulent check is 116255 and it is through the Greenville National Bank. Joy stated that the check had been originally addressed and sent to ERTH Systems Shredding for the amount of $390.00 for services rendered on June 20, 2023 when the check was issued. Joy stated that the check was kept locked inside the business until it was sent in the mail to ERTH Systems Shredding. Joy contacted the business and confirmed the address where the check had been sent to. Joy also spoke with the owner of the business and he confirmed that they had never received the check in the mail. A copy of the fraudulent check, an internal accounting record document, and invoice from ERTH Systems Shredding was received by Joy which will be scanned into the report. A victim rights and witness statement form were completed and will be scanned in this report. After speaking with the bank about the fraudulent check she was advised by an employee of the bank to request a stop payment of the check as well as advised to file a police report. Joy reported the fraudulent check to the Greenville National Bank and put a stop of payment before filing a police report with the Greenville Police Department. A business card with the report number was given to both Joy and Sam for their records. The name listed on the fraudulent check is Vladimir Germain with an address of 5334 Mitchell Street, Naples, Florida 34113. A search of the address through the Collier County Property Tax Collector website, where the address resides, showed the listed owner to be NonNombre, Jean M. Marie V. Germain. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and made aware of the address as well as the name on the fraudulent check. It appears that the name attached to the address listed on the check is a fictitious name with the last name being “No Name” in Spanish.

Trespassing

On July 27, 2023 at 10:38 PM police responded to 1501 Wagner Avenue on a reported trespassing complaint. Prior to the police’s arrival the complainant, identified as Jodi Edger, advised the suspect had left the store in an unknown direction on a bicycle. The suspect was identified as Jamie Bass. Police checked the area without locating Jamie and responded to Walmart to speak with Jodi. Jodi advised at approximately 10:37PM, she observed Jamie inside the store walking to a checkout line with a cart. Jodi advised when she confronted her, Jamie stated she was trying to buy some milk and cereal. Jodi stated she asked Jamie to come back to her office with her in order to contact Greenville Police Department. Jodi stated when she did so, Jamie left the store on her bike. Jodi was able to show police video from inside the store which showed Jamie walking out of the store at approximately 10:39 PM. Police then observed Jamie get onto a bike and travel southbound through the parking lot and then eastbound in between Cato’s and Walmart. Jodi provided police with the video along with still images of Jamie exiting the store. Jodi also completed a witness statement and a victims rights form. Police was able to see that Jamie was issued a trespass warning from Walmart on 05-26-2022. Police completed a misdemeanor citation reference criminal trespass which was served to Jaimie on August 5, 2023 at 405 Martin Street. While serving Jamie her citation, Jamie admitted to knowing she was trespassed from Walmart previously and still entered the store.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On August 4, 2023 at 7:22 PM, police responded to the intersection of Broadway Street and Main Street to assist another officer with apprehending Shawn Martin, who had an active felony warrant through Darke County Sheriff’s Office reference dangerous drugs with no bond. Upon police’s arrival, then other P.O. had placed Shawn into handcuffs. Shawn was also searched incident to arrest with nothing located. Shawn’s warrant was confirmed and police transported him to the Darke County Jail to be held on the warrant. Shawn was transferred into the custody of jail staff.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On August 5, 2023 at approximately 2:20 PM police responded to 122 W. Main Street, Greenville Police Department, reference a wanted subject. The subject was later identified as Issac Lane, and requested to turn himself in on an active arrest warrant through the Greenville Police Department. Police made contact with Issac in the lobby and placed him under arrest and into handcuffs. Police checked Issac and learned he had an active arrest warrant reference violating a CPO with no bond and must serve 66 days. Police searched Issac incident to arrest with nothing located. Police transported Issac to the Darke County Jail where police transferred him into the custody of jail staff to be held on the warrant.

Theft

On August 5, 2023 at approximately 9:18 PM police responded to 510 Harrison Avenue reference a theft. Police made contact with the complainant, Sarah Fleming. Sarah stated that at approximately 8:55 PM she had a bicycle taken from her side yard. Sarah stated that 5 minutes before the bike was taken, her ex boyfriend, Keith Mitchell was at the house and they were involved in a verbal argument. Keith then left the house. Sarah stated that when she came outside shortly after, the bike was missing. Sarah does have a camera that caught the incident. In the video a thin white male wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood up, and gray pants, can be seen walking up from the alley behind the house. The subject then picks the bike up and leaves again towards the alley. The subject had his hood up and covered his face during this incident. Sarah stated that the subject was not Keith, but believes he is involved. Sarah stated that the bike is an orange Kink BMX style bike with black handles, white lettering, and orange spokes on the wheels. Sarah will send photos of the bike as well as a receipt and a copy of the surveillance video. Sarah filled out a written statement and a victims rights form. While police was speaking to Sarah, Keith showed up to the residence. Keith stated that he heard the dispatch on the scanner and figured police would want to talk to him. Keith’s clothing did not match the subject in the video. Keith denied any involvement and was sent on his way. Police then drove past Keith’s residence, 403 N Gray Avenue, but did not observe the bike outside. At approximately 11:00 PM police drove past the back of 510 Harrison Avenue and observed the bike sitting behind a shed on the property. The bicycle was returned to Sarah. Nothing Further.
