Drug Paraphernalia

January 11

On January 11, 2023 at 09:26 AM, hours assistant principal Chris Sykes contacted the P.O. on duty as the SRO at the Greenville High School and stated that a student had been found to be in possession of a THC vape pen while in in-school suspension. The P.O. spoke with the student, who advised the vape pen was his and stated it contained THC. He also stated he was caught passing the vape pen in in-school suspension by the teacher and that he used the vape pen while at school as well. Due to the student’s admissions, the P.O. completed a misdemeanor citation for ORC 2925.141(C) Illegal use or possession of marihuana drug paraphernalia and also made contact with the student’s father. The student also received discipline through the school.

Possession/Abuse of Drugs

February 1

On February 1 at approximately 08:58AM a P.O. responded for a complaint of domestic violence in the lobby of the Greenville Police Department. The parties had already been separated and the male half left the area in his vehicle. Since the domestic violence happened in Bradford, the female was referred to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. There were no signs of visible injuries on Kimberly Dotson. The officers were informed of an Adult Probation Officer that he wanted to speak with her and he requested that the officers bring her to the courthouse for a drug test. The officers asked to check Kimberly’s bag and she agreed and admitted that she has some old Marijuana in it. During the search the officers also found a glass pipe, two grinders, two packets of buprenorphine and naloxone and two crystallized rocks with white residue around them, appearing to be methamphetamine. Kimberly was placed under arrest and incarcerated at the Darke County Jail with no bond.

Misc Offenses/Property Damage

February 1

On February 1 at approximately 1:50 AM officers were dispatched to the Bandshell in the city park reference a suspicious vehicle in the area. A maroon Buick drove into Shelter House 3, struck the corner concrete wall of the shelter and multiple picnic tables in the shelter, exited the shelter, crossed over Bandshell Dr, drove into the grass and finally struck a tree. A cell phone ans a ball cap were on the ground beside the driver door. The owner of the vehicle was found at his residence. He admitted to driving the car and that he was trying to kill himself. He was transported to Wayne Healthcare for the suicidal thoughts and possible injuries from the crash.
