Trash/Dumping

February 28

On February 28, 2023 at approximately 11:40 PM Police responded to 111 Cypress Street reference a trash complaint. Upon arrival the P.O. observed several pieces of loose trash in the alley by the garage of the listed residence. He also observed 2-3 loose trash bags that were laying in the driveway. The P.O. looked on the Darke County Auditors Office website and learned that the property is owned by Raymond Smith. He was unable to make contact at the door. He also called the phone number listed for Raymond but was unable to leave a voicemail. A trash notice was posted at the residence. An email was also sent to the Safety Service Director regarding this report.

Nuisances

March 2

On March 2, 2023 at approximately 12:56 PM, police was informed of a possible junk motor vehicle parked in the back driveway to a residence listed at 325 East Third Street. Upon arrival police located the listed 1984 Chevrolet Corvette parked in the driveway off the alley behind the listed address of Third Street. Through investigation it was found that the registered owner of the vehicle is Lisa Ganim, who resides at the listed residence on East Third Street. Police was unable to make contact with Lisa via knocking on the door. Police also attempted to telephone Ganim with a negative outcome. Having prior knowledge of the vehicle and through information that was given to police from Ganim in the recent past, it was determined that the vehicle is not in working condition and is showing the Ohio registration to the vehicle to be expired. A junk motor vehicle form was completed and placed on the listed vehicle.

Telecommunications Harassment

March 7

On March 7 at approximately 12:20 PM officers were dispatched to the Greenville Police Department in reference to a telephone harassment complaint. Police spoke to Kyley Magill, who advised that she had just granted a protection order against Cody Lloyd but he had not yet been served a copy of the order. Magill advised that Lloyd has been warned to not contact her yet he continues to contact her by phone through a massaging app to harass and threaten her. While the police was speaking with Magill, Lloyd called and the police told Magill to answer so it could be confirmed it was him calling. Lloyd sounded aggressive towards Magill. Police told Magill to see if Lloyd would agree to meet her somewhere. Lloyd agreed to meet at the Circle Mart gas station. Police found the dispatch records to confirm that Lloyd was warned twice for telephone harassment against Magill. Officers arrived at the Circle Mart and located Lloyd who stated that he only contacted Magill because she contacts him. Lloyd was served a copy of the protection order and advised to not contact Magill any further. Police also issued Lloyd a citation for telecommunication harassment against Magill

Violating Protection Order

March 7

On March 7, approximately 1:16PM Police responded to a call at the 100 Block of Martin Street in reference to a Protection Order Violation. The victim, Kyley Magill stated that defendant Cody Lloyd had followed her as she left the Greenville Police Department. Lloyd had driven behind Magill and at the 100 Block of Martin Street, Lloyd passed the center line and proceeded to drive past Magill, yelling at her through an open window that she was going “to regret it” and then proceeded to throw a cup containing beverage through the open window of Magill’s vehicle, almost causing Magill to crash before he continued East on Martin Street. Lloyd’s vehicle was later found at 118 River Street. Police spoke with the owner of the residence and she said that she was going to make Lloyd leave the residence if he was present. Police attempted to locate Lloyd after he left the residence and observed Lloyd walking West at the 300 block of Tiffin. Police advised Lloyd of his Protection Order Violation, placed him in handcuffs and transported him to the Darke County Jail.

Warrant/Fugitive from Justice

March 7

On March 7, approximately 3:41 PM police was dispatched to Lowes at 1550 Wagner Ave in reference to a wanted person. Police located James Mcclurg, who had an active warrant through the Darke County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court on original charge of assault. James was placed under arrest and transported to the Darke County Jail, where he was incarcerated on no bond. He must serve 114 days.

March 7

On March 7 at approximately 8:55 PM Police went to Fram at 851 Jackson Street to see if Merrick Allen’s vehicle was at the parking lot. Police had prior knowledge that Merrick has a warrant through the Greenville Police Department for Failure to Appear for arraignment on the original charge of Driving Under Suspension. Police observed Merrick’s vehicle in the parking lot and as police was leaving the parking lot the taillights of the vehicle lit up and police observed Merrick getting out of the car. Merrick was placed under arrest and transported to the Darke County Jail.

March 8

On March 8 at approximately 3:40PM police was dispatched to the Greenville Police Department in reference to a fugitive from justice. When police arrived the P.O. observed the defendant, Christopher Newberry waiting outside the entrance of the Greenville Police Department. Police knew that Newberry had a warrant from the Greenville Police Department for failure to appear on charges of Criminal Trespass. Newberry was placed into handcuffs, searched incident to arrest and transported to the Darke County Jail
