Jeff Whitaker who was elected at Mayor in the November election and the 2 Council Members Delores Ely and Chris Norris took their Oath of Office in a Ceremony on Monday 12/11 at the City Council Chamber in the City Building.
Jeff Whitaker thanked all in attendance, especially Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy, and invited Pastor Alex Murphy from the Community of Faith to speak and lead the prayer.
After the prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, the 2 Council Members Delores Ely and Chris Norris took their Oath of Office.
Then Jeff Whitaker took his Oath of Office. His wife Robin as well as his daughter and grand-daughter held the Bible.
After being sworn in, Jeff Whitaker thanked again all those who attended this Ceremony.
Jeff Whitaker expressed that he is honored having been able to serve the City as Council Member for 6 years and that it is a privilege to be elected as Mayor. He promised to continue an open and honest Government.
