Job Offer: Code Enforcement Inspector

The City of Greenville is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time position of a Code Enforcement Inspector.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Under general direction, is responsible for ensuring compliance with a variety of ordinances, codes and regulations relating to zoning, land use, licensing, health and safety, blight, graffiti, nuisances, and other matters of public concern. Work includes conducting field inspections, meeting with property owners, educating the public about applicable laws, issuing warnings, issuing citations, attending court, coordinating with other city departments and the solicitor to ensure all city codes are uniformly applied.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and basic experience, knowledge and/or training in housing and nuisance codes typically resulting from a combination of education or years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  Must have a valid Ohio’s Driver License.

SALARY:  Starting pay is $17.00 an hour.
