DECEMBER 24, 1935 – OCTOBER 16, 2023
Katherine Frances Cullers passed over into God’s Kingdom on 10/16/23, surrounded by her family and beloved staff from Oakley Place.
Kay followed in death her son Matthew, and her beloved husband Gene Cullers. She is survived by 4 of her children. Kelly, Marc, Colleen, and Elizabeth and a loving number of grandchildren and great grandchildren almost too numerous to count.
With a home economics degree from the University of Dayton, Kay dedicated her life to building a Home for her husband and children, which was continually filled with Love, faith, laughter, card games, and many great meals. Kay often asked about her purpose here on earth, and concluded it was her family, to whom she dedicated her life.
A dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic church, she used her deep religious faith to guide her actions and ministries which included working for The Greenville Public Library, The Darke County Mental Health Office, and Hospice of Darke County.
Kay maintained an optimistic view on life throughout her days and was always ready for a conversation with someone in need. The following reading is in her honor:
A Mothers Love
Only once in your life will someone so special
Walk in front of you and prepare the way for a better future.
Only once will there be a person who cares enough to say “no”,
But is enthusiastic enough to say “yes” whenever possible.
Only once in your life will someone wait patiently
While you make the most important decisions of your life
Only once in your life will you know someone who has the courage
not to back down from a decision she’s made.
Only once will you have the opportunity to be loved by someone
Who could never love you more than she does every day.
A Mothers Love is One of a Kind
There will be calling hours from 9:00 am – 10:00 am Friday, October 20th, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, followed by a Mass in her honor at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenville.
