Learning about Health and Wellness at YMCA Darke County’s Healthy Kids Day

By Art Auth |

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, families in Darke County gathered at the YMCA Greenville Campus for a fun-filled and informative event: Healthy Kids Day. From 10 am till 1 pm, the YMCA hosted a vibrant array of activities aimed at promoting health and wellness for children and their families.

The event was a collaborative effort, with local organizations such as the Darke County WIC program, the Darke County Health Department, Greenville Township Fire & Rescue, and more coming together to provide valuable information on nutrition, car seat safety, and other essential health topics.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for kids to engage in various physical activities and games. From zumba to exercise challenges, children were encouraged to get moving and have fun while staying active. These activities not only promoted physical fitness but also instilled healthy habits from a young age.

For families considering joining the YMCA, Healthy Kids Day offered an added incentive. New member fees were waived for all those who signed up on April 20, making it even easier for individuals and families to access the YMCA’s wide range of amenities and programs.

The YMCA in Darke County prides itself on offering activities for everyone, from kids to seniors. Whether it’s swimming, group fitness classes, sports leagues, or senior wellness programs, there’s something for every age and interest.

If you missed out on Healthy Kids Day, don’t worry! The YMCA Darke County continues to be a hub for community health and wellness year-round. To learn more about their offerings and upcoming events, visit their website at www.ymcadarkecounty.org.
