11 girls and 3 boys were registered to compete for the title of Little Miss Annie Oakley and Mister Buffalo Bill on Wednesday, 11 girls and 2 boys took the stage and presented themselves to the jurors, 2023 Darke County Junior Fair King Andrew Wuebker, 2023 Darke County Junior Fair Queen Elizabeth Brewer and Fair manager Laura Ahrens.
The event was organized by the 2022 Miss Annie Oakley Madison Werner and Annie Oakley Festival Committee member Marla Werner, Madison Werner lead through the contest and asked the contestants three general question and one they hat to draw out of a hat.
Choosing Little Miss Annie Oakley came to a tie-break, so the two girls were asked an additional question to determine which one of the two girls will be Little Miss Annie Oakley 2023 and which one will be first runner-up.
At the end, Tesla Buccella was chosen as Little Miss Annie Oakley with Ruby Rice as first runner-up. Sullivan Cover is Little Mr. Buffalo Bill with Leo Duke as first runner-up. Piper Arnold won the title “Most Photogenic”.
The other girls in the competition ( Vivian Post, Tayla Reeser, Traeh Reeser, Tylee Reeser, Jesslee Woodward, Grace Schaaf, Stella Miller and Elizabeth Corbin) were presented with a gift bag.
