JANUARY 15, 1944 – JULY 8, 2023
Michael John Hess, 79 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 5:55 AM at Ayden Healthcare of Greenville. Mike was born January 15, 1944 in Coldwater, Ohio, the son of the late Gerald “Whitey” and Elizabeth (Steinke) Hess.
Mike served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked at Piqua Electric Motor Services as an Electric Motor shop Foreman.
Mike was a 1962 graduate of Versailles High School; he loved fixing things for people, trying to figure out how things work; and especially spending time with his family. Mike was well regarded and will be missed for his electrical skills.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gary Hess.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda (Holtman) Hess of Versailles whom he married May 24, 1969; his children and spouses, Eric and Theresa Hess, Aaron Hess, Andrea and Peter Iversen, Jason and Amy Hess, Christine Hess, Laura and Kyle Mowery, and Lindsey and Brian Moran; his grandchildren, Isaac, and Caroline Iversen, Lily, Robbie, and Allie Mowery, Elias, Griffen, and Maeve Hess, Roger and Norah Hess; his brother and sister in law, Nick and Janice Hess; his sister and brother in law, Lisa and David Aultman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday July 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Brock Cemetery with Veterans services being conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday June 21, 2023 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to True Life Church.
