MV Girls Varsity Bowling takes the win over their own shorthanded JV

By Mindy Longfellow |

The Girls Varsity bowling team took on the JV team in week #7 of MWOBL action at New Bremen’s Speedway Lanes.

It was an interesting day, as one of their lanes broke down after the first few throws during warmups. For the first regular game they bowled all bowlers on one lane, putting them behind schedule compared to the rest of the lanes.

The scores stayed fairly even among the bowlers, but because the JV was missing a bowler, they fell behind by 115 pins. They moved back to using 2 lanes for the remainder of the match, but scores did not really improve for either team, as most bowled below their averages. However, because the Varsity had a bowler advantage, they knew they had the match sewn up going into the baker game round, ahead by 300+ pins.

Though the JV tried their best during the baker games, two frames of 00 makes a big difference. The Varsity finished with the win at 1681-1216.
