GREENVILLE- A junior at Tri-Village, Lauren Porter will be attending CTC to study Veterinary Science during the upcoming schoolyear.

As for now, Porter, like many others, will be contesting at The Darke County Fair.

Porter started riding at the age of four and has been hard at it every since.

“I started contesting in 2018 with my mare that just had a baby,” Porter said with a smile.”

Currently Porter is showing two horses/

A stud named Really and a mare called Hurricane Jane/

“I almost have Really trained but my mare is my go to horse,” said Porter. “She is the one I go to state with.”

After starting at such a young age, Porter does know what kept her going.

“I was scared t death of them,” admitted Porter/ “I really dont know why I continued riding. I guess it just grew on me and now I’m really loving it”

Porter is connected with the Buckeye Buck-a-roos and her parents are Troy and Lisa Porter.
