SEPTEMBER 22, 1930 – FEBRUARY 1, 2023
Robert J. “Bob” Gunckle, age 92 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 3:02 AM Wednesday February 1, 2023 at the Oakley Place in Greenville. Bob was born September 22, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio and the son of the late William Jennings and Trixie Marie (Medford) Gunckle.
Bob was retired having farmed his entire life as well as working as a bus driver and mechanic first with the Gettysburg School System then with the Greenville School System. He was a member of the Stelvideo Christian Church, a former member of the Stelvideo Grange, enjoyed fishing and in 1989 helped start Gunckle Tree Service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Patsy M. (Unger) Gunckle September 1, 2006. They were married February 15, 1957. Also by his brothers Orvan Leroy Gunckle, Ray Allen Gunckle and Glenn Harold Gunckle and two sisters Thelma Mae (Gunckle) Sullenbarger and Marjorie Mae (Gunckle) Cress.
Bob is survived by his children Bill (Sandy) Gunckle, Rick (Cheryl) Gunckle and Jerry (Angie) Gunckle, all of Greenville; grandchildren Amy (Kevin) Smith, Robert (Jennifer) Gunckle, Jessica (Carl) Hudkins, Justin Gunckle and Jonathan Gunckle; great grandchildren Violet Smith. Ivy Smith, Abigail Gunckle and Nathan Gunckle; sister-in-law Kathleen (Kinnison) Gunckle as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday February 7, 2023 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Tracy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
