We want to inform our citizens and businesses here in Union City that tonight, April 3rd, we have taken four (4) separate counterfeit reports, most of which are caused by people passing these fake bills. In light of this, we would deduce that there have been even more bills passed than have been reported. All of these fake bills are marked in some way that indicates they are not to be used as legal tender.
As you will see in the photos, noted by the yellow circles, they are marked as:
‘Replica’, ‘Motion Picture Use Only’ or ‘Play Money’. The bills in the pictures are bills that have been successfully passed in Union City this evening.
We are asking businesses (and anybody who takes in money), especially large denominations, to please look carefully at the bills before accepting them as payment for goods or services.
