At the October FFA meeting, October FFA members of the month were announced. Brooke Bergman, Shawna Schmitmeyer, and Blake Schmitmeyer were selected as Versailles FFA members of the month.
Brooke Bergman was selected as a Versailles FFA member of the month. Brooke is a freshman and two year member of the Versailles FFA. Brooke’s SAE includes showing sheep at the Darke County Fair, and she has participated in Public Speaking, General Livestock Judging, and Parliamentary Procedure. She showed at the fair, exhibited shop and crop, and has been involved in the Greenhand Conference, fruit sales, Farm Day, monthly meetings, and Leadership Night. Brooke is the daughter of Kevin and Gwen Bergman. Brooke received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.
Shawna Schmitmeyer was also selected as a Versailles FFA member of the month. Shawna is a freshman and two year member of the Versailles FFA. Shawna’s SAE consists of showing dairy cows at the Darke County Fair and has exhibited shop and crop. She has participated in the following CDEs: Dairy Judging and Parliamentary Procedure. She has also been involved in fruit sales, monthly meetings, the Greenhand Conference, and Leadership Night. Shawna is the daughter of Doug and Brenda Schmitmeyer. Shawna received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.
Blake Schmitmeyer was selected as the third Versailles FFA member of the month. Blake is a sophomore and two year member of the Versailles FFA. Blake’s SAE is in job placement, and he has participated in the Dairy Judging and Parliamentary Procedure as CDEs. He exhibited shop and crop at the Darke County Fair and attended the following major activities: Greenhand Conference, Farm Day, monthly meetings, Leadership Night, and State Convention. He also serves as an assistant officer. Blake is the son of Matt and Liz Schmitmeyer. Blake received a t-shirt and certificate for being named FFA member of the month.
