Betty Lou Yount

Betty Lou Yount, 62, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021, at Ayden Healthcare in Greenville.

She was born on March 2, 1959, in Greenville, to the late Maynard and Amanda (Grey) Garland.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Maxwell; her brother, Charles Garland; and her 6 infant siblings.

Betty was a devout shopper. Whether she had $5.00 or $500.00, Betty was always on the lookout for a good deal. She enjoyed checking out Goodwill for her next finds or stopping by many local garage sales. Betty worked for many local restaurants and bowling alleys as their cook. If you have eaten in Greenville, there is a good chance you have eaten food made by Betty.

When she wasn’t cooking or shopping, Betty could be found on her front porch, ice cold Pepsi in her hand, watching the world go by. She would spend hours upon hours just enjoying the great outdoors and watching the cars go by. Betty liked to paint, color, and do puzzles and crosswords.

Betty is survived by her husband of 44 years, Arthur “AJ” Yount, Jr., whom she married on May 13, 1977; her children, Philip Yount, Ben (Cortney) Yount, and Amanda (Sean) Rouse, all of Greenville; her grandchildren, Alexis Clay, Elizabeth Clay, Tatum Yount, Avery Yount, Bowen Yount, Aeris Raffel, Abby Raffel, Adalynn Campbell, Adam Raffel, Ayden Rouse, Atticus Rouse, and Asher Rouse; her great granddaughter, Madelynn Cox; her siblings, Earl Garland, Ray Garland, Joan Perdue, and Sonny Garland, all of Greenville, Jerry Garland of Portsmouth, Ohio. Jackie Garland of California, and Eddie Garland of Eaton; her close friends, Susan Waddell and Paula Fields, both of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
