Charlotte Bailey

MAY 3, 1926 – AUGUST 1, 2022

Charlotte Maurine Bailey was resting peacefully in her home when she went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2022. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi on May 3, 1926 to Adrian and Caroline (Barnhart) Tester.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth L. Bailey, granddaughter, Heather Estel, sisters, Mary Tester, Gladys Byram, and brother, William Tester.

She was a member of East Zion Church where she had attended over 70 years. She was a Sunday school teacher of the junior class for over 40 years and teacher of the adult class 10 years. She was a member of the churches Women’s Guild and held various offices in the church.

She assisted her father in incorporating the Darke County Lightning Protection Company in 1955 and served as an officer in that firm as long as it remained in the family.

She is survived by her sister Dawn Besecker of Greenville, Ohio, her son and daughter-in-law Todd and Vickie Bailey of Greenville, Ohio, daughters and sons-in-laws Lori and Brad Stone of Greenville, Ohio, and Amy and Craig Tanner of Parkersburg, West Virginia, 7 grandchildren Melissa (Ken) Davidson, Aaron (Julie) Brown, Joshua (Pamela) Brown, Chris Bailey, Jason (Hyunju) Bailey, and Tabitha Treadway, 6 great grandchildren Sarah Treadway, Kirsten Estel, Allie (Alex) O’Connor, Megan Treadway, Ryan Treadway, and Ben Davidson, also great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends, and her East Zion Family.

A celebration of life will be held at East Zion Church on Sunday August 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Paul Calvert officiating with a reception following the service at the church.
