Daniel A. “Buzz” Nealeigh

Daniel A. “Buzz” Nealeigh III age 85, of Greenville passed away at 4:30 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his residence.

Buzz was born April 29, 1937, in Greenville to the late Daniel & Ellen (Dohme) Nealeigh. Buzz was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. (Morton) Nealeigh on July 17, 2019, whom he married October 12, 1956; grandson, Jonah Nealeigh; and brothers, Bill & Roger Nealeigh.

Buzz is survived by his children, Tracie & Ron Tillman of Madison, Mississippi, Tony & Diana Nealeigh of Union City, Indiana, and Daniel & Melanie Nealeigh of Greenville; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers & sisters-in-law, Ted & Karen Nealeigh of Greenville and Tim & Kathleen Nealeigh of Greenville; sister & brother-in-law, Betsy & Gerald Miller of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Buzz graduated from Greenville High School in 1955. He owned and operated Lightsville Garage for 20 years and was employed at Mississinawa Valley Schools for 28 years. Buzz founded the J.I. Case Collectors Club where he served as the first President. He served 13 times as President of the Darke County Steam Threshers Association. Buzz was a professional motorcycle racer with the national number 42 and was Indiana State Champion in 1961. Buzz was a member of the Treaty City Motorcycle Club; American Motorcycle Association; Farm Power of the Past; and the National Rifle Association; Greenville Masonic Lodge No. 143; Greenville Masonic Craft Club; 32nd Degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine Masons of Dayton; Darke County Shrine Club; and a former member of the Darke County Shrine Club’s Jeepster Unit.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
