Domestic Violence

On 09/11/23 at approximately 8:57 PM, GPD responded to 710 Twelfth St. on a domestic disturbance. Police met and spoke with Ashley Vititoe who was waiting outside. Police then spoke with Kevin Vititoe. Kevin and Ashley are husband and wife and reside together. Both stated they had been in a verbal altercation and there was no phyical contact. Ashley stated she was leaving for the night and did so prior to the police’s departure. There were no school aged children present.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On 09/11/23 at approximately 7:14 PM police responded to 405 Martin St. on a keep the peace with Adam Rihm. Rihm is in the process of selling his house and wanted everyone to vacate the property. While police was there, Danielle Haberny was in the process of moving out. PO had dispatch check her driving status and was advised that she had a probation violation warrant from Darke County. PO confirmed Haberny’ s social security number and she was arrested and the warrant was confirmed.

Theft

On September 11, 2023 at approximately 5:54 PM police responded to 841 Martin Street; Marathon, reference a drive off. PO made contact with Kassandra Nelson, who is an employee at Marathon. Kassandra stated that prior to the police’s arrival a white male subject wearing tan khaki pants and a pink dress shirt drove off without paying for his gasoline. Kassandra stated that the subject was driving a blue Honda SUV bearing Ohio registration HES9657. Kassandra stated that the subject pulled up to pump #3, which she stated the card swipe does not work on. Kassandra stated that the subject did not come into the store, and she gave him authorization to pump gas from the computer inside of the store. Kassandra stated that she was busy waiting on other customers while the subject was pumping gas, and when she turned around he was gone. Kassandra stated that the subject did not come inside to pay. It is unknown if the subject attempted to use his debit card on the pump, or whether he knowingly left without paying for the gas. Kassandra stated that she was able to take a picture of the car before it left, but there are no cameras on the outside of the store. Kassandra filled out a written statement and a victims rights form. PO checked the registration through LEADS/NCIC and learned that it was registered to Kelly Lowe who lives in Sydney, OH. Sydney Police Department went to the listed address but was unable to make contact with anyone. At this time the identity of the driver is unknown. This case will need further investigation.

Domestic Violence

On September 11th 2023 police was dispatched to 122 West Main Street, Greenville Police Department in reference to a domestic dispute that occurred at 608 East Fourth Street. BCI only between Beth and Dustin Kendrick who are married but are separated, they have four children together. Beth and the four children reside at 610 East Fifth Street. Dustin resides at 609 Walnut Street. Verbal dispute between the three parties at 608 East Fourth Street. Beth was advised of the CPO process. Two school age children were present, both attend Greenville City Schools.

Having Weapons Under Disability

On September 11, 2023 at approximately 12:47 PM while out on routine patrol police initiated a traffic stop for expired registration. PO observed the listed dark green Chevrolet truck with Ohio registration GHU4936 parked facing westbound on West Fourth Street near Sycamore Street. When PO checked the registration through LEADS/NCIC he found that the registration had expired on July 5, 2023. The vehicle left the parking spot and made a left turn onto Sycamore Street traveling southbound. PO got behind the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop by turning on the emergency overhead lights. The listed vehicle had pulled off to the side of the road in a parking spot facing southbound on Sycamore Street near West Fifth Street. Prior to the PO’s arrival a passenger had exited and walked away from the vehicle and was later identified as Corey Kauffman. Upon approaching the vehicle PO observed the defendant; Jason Swisher in the driver seat of the listed vehicle. It was later found that Jason was the registered owner of the listed vehicle. There was also a passenger in the back seat of the vehicle who was identified as Amanda Kauffman. When Jason was asked if there were any weapons located in the vehicle he initially stated that there were not before then stating that there was a weapon belonging to Amanda in the “back” of the truck. Upon further questioning Amanda stated that there was an AR15 located in the bed of the truck. Amanda stated that she had been trying to pawn the firearm but was not able to because her identification card was expired. When asked Jason and Amanda consented to the PO checking the firearm located in the bed of the truck. Upon opening the tailgate of the truck PO observed what appeared to be the rifle wrapped in a brown shirt. PO unwrapped the brown shirt and observed the black Ruger AR15 rifle located within. PO checked to make sure that the chamber of the rifle was safe and clear before having dispatch run the serial number of the rifle to ensure that it had not been reported as stolen. The rifle was then placed back into the shirt that it was originally wrapped in. Dispatch later confirmed that the rifle had not been reported as stolen. While waiting for dispatch to confirm that the rifle was not stolen another PO arrived on scene and spoke with Jason. While the PO was speaking with Jason he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Jason was ordered out of the vehicle so that it could be searched. Once outside the vehicle, PO performed a pat down of Jason to ensure that he did not possess any weapons on his person and which none were found. A loaded AR15 magazine as well as a small black bag containing a leafy green substance was located in the vehicle. The AR15 and loaded magazine were taken and placed into property by a PO as evidence. The other PO had dispatch perform a “CCH” Computerized Criminal History on Jason that showed he had several felonies. Those include felonious assault in 1998, breaking and entering in 2001, as well as aggravated assault in 2001. After learning that Jason had several violent felonies and had possession of a firearm in his vehicle Jason was placed under arrest. PO placed Jason in handcuffs and Jason was searched incident to arrest with no contraband being located. PO transported Jason to the Darke County jail where he was incarcerated with no bond. As the PO was placing the rifle into property he observed the brown shirt that it was wrapped in had the name Jason stitched on it.

Vandalism

On September 10th 2023 at 5:58 PM police was dispatched to 122 West Main Street, Greenville Police Department in reference to a vandalism that occurred on September 9th 2023 at 525 Treaty Way. PO made contact with Courtney Spencer and her 16 year old son. Courtney advised that between the hours of 3:30 and 3:45 someone had come to there home address of 525 Treaty Way and slashed the back driver side tire to her 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. Courtney stated that she believes it was her neighbors at 521 Treaty way, the duplex connected to there residence. Courtney stated that they have had neighbor disputes and contacted the landlord for noise complaints and believes the tire being slashed was retaliation. The son informed the PO that he received a message from an anonymous account on Instagram, the message stated “how’s your flat tire”. He said that he deleted the messages and no longer had them available. Courtney provided pictures of a female subject that was leaving 521 Treaty Way. The picture was taken today around 3PM. Courtney believes she was involved with this incident. The person in the photo was identified as Breanna Bennett. PO made contact with Breanna at 219 Locust Street. Breanna was wearing the same clothing as she was in the picture that was taken by Courtney. Breanna stated that she was at the residence yesterday around that time with Sydney Grote, who resides at 521 Treaty Way. Breana also stated that she was there today around 3PM today getting a basket full of paint. A basket full of paint was next to Breanna, the same basket that was in the picture taken by Courtney. Breanna denied any allegations of slashing a tire. After speaking with Breanna, PO made contact with Sydney Grote and Kayden Madden at 521 Treaty Way. Kayden stated that he was at work on September 9th until 5:00 PM at Wright Patterson Air Force base. Kayden confirmed this by contacting a co-worker who stated he was there. Sydney stated that she home most of the day and during that time but did not damage Courtney’s vehicle. Sydney and Kayden advised that they were unaware of any complaints from their neighbor and has not be contacted by the land lord. With no further evidence this case can be closed.

Domestic Violence

On September 12, 2023 at approximately 6:34 PM police esponded to 150 Ridgeview Drive reference a domestic dispute between Eric and Katina Hollopeter, who are married and reside at the residence together. PO made contact with both subjects. Both advised that they were involved in a verbal argument over relationship issues. Neither party had any visible injuries. Eric agreed to leave for the night. BCI only. No school age children present.

Wanted Person/Fugitive from Justice

On September 12th, 2023 at approximately 3:51 PM police was dispatched to 801 Front Street in reference to an Agency Assist and prisoner transport. PO made contact with the Probation Officer. He advised the PO that he had arrested Tray Guntle on a warrant. The probation Officer advised the PO to transport Tray to the Darke County Jail. PO placed Tray in handcuff’s and placed him in the back seat of the cruiser and transported him to the Darke County Jail. Tray was released to jail staff.
